That was my read of the game. We outplayed them for vast periods, but they got a couple of lucky bounces and, fair play to them, their strikers put the ball away. But, in my opinion, in 10 games like that, we would win 8 of them.

Not sure what's happened to Vermaelen, i know we overrated him a but when he first joined but he never used to do things like Liverpool's first goal. He's making howlers every week at the moment..
The first one wasn't clever defending, I''ll grant you although if Sagna hadn't slipped it would have been a non-event. The second, the defending was fine, 4 round the ball and a double rebound perfectly into the path of the attacker beating the keeper. I don't see how you can plan against that happening.
One thing is certain. We really need to sign someone tomorrow. 3 players would be good. A DM (Ramsey didn't work today), A LB (If Gibbs is out for a while, we need someone) and a striker (David Villa) would be a good day.
