Good post. We could go all night but in the end this was always going to be a difficult season, I suppose it's frustrating when with a win tonight we would be looking up that table.
I change one rule after everyone was moaning when Suarez was the only scorer. I was ahead then and still ahead now
There's a Brendan Rodger's quote floating around post Oldham match saying the squad doesn't lack physical strength, but that's it's a mental issue that causes us problems. I going to take that as him saying we don't need to bring in stronger players.
The fact we give him games shows our depth in that area. The man is an absolute steaming turd of a player.
When did he ever get good? I hear a lot about how he has improved lately but all I've seen is a terrible player looking a little better. With Coutinho in we'd be silly not to accept any good bid.
A point against the arse away is ok. Yes it's disappointing to let slip a 2 goal lead but hey we did ok - the game could have swung either way IMHO. Re the gooners : schezny is dodgy and Wilshire is class. Re LFC. This game could be the final nail in Downings coffin...everyone else did ok. Good to see Sterling playing in his natural position!
Think this is exactly it. He's been so bad then a couple of average games and he looks like he's improved. I said before the game he's been better but still been average and still needs to give a few top draw performances where he takes on players, supplies assists and goals and then we may see the "old" Downing that looked a good player, but until then he'll just be another average expensive flop.
Just not good enough from us defensively. No good defending well for 60 minutes and going 2-0 up if you're going to switch off defensively for a 5 minute period and concede 2 goals. The same thing happened at Goodison. We should've learnt from that but we didn't. Brendan needs to start learning from the things that go wrong, instead of them happening over and over. Poor set piece defending and poor defending generally.
You could even take the 'good' out of that sentence. Just give him away...somebody just please bloody take him.
Michael laudrup improved brendan rodgers Swansea when he came in by signing michu, Chico Flores and de Guzman three strong players. I just don't think Rodgers understands the importance of physical presence. Funny how Michael laudrup seems to understand the premier league better than Rodgers despite no experience of English football compared to Rodgers.
I thought we sat too far back, Arsenal are the masters at getting in between the lines and keeping the ball in tight spaces. Still, at times I thought we played some brilliant football, Sturridge was a good outlet all night but I don't think Suarez was at his magnificent best. The guy gets a lot of stick, but Carragher was immense tonight, we looked much more composed at the back (apart from the 5 minute lapse) and he's proved he still has a lot to offer.
Sorry. We played well and some of our inexperience was rudely exposed in 6 minute period but we dug in and showed application. We most certainly didn't bottle it though!
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers: "Our pressure was very educated, and that lead to us getting a couple of chances. We scored one and could have had two more before half-time. I though in the first 65 minutes we were outstanding. But we are pleased with a point and we'll move on. "We're more than capable of going to Man City and getting a result. There will be no more players coming in, that's correct." Taken from BBC. Doesn't look like we'll be getting a CB or CM in this window then, unless it's a double bluff.
