I'll take it thought we'd get thumped and this result won't do too much harm.

Look at those stats away at united.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21156075

    Possession 50/50

    United shots

    11 with 7 on target.

    Southampton shots

    21 with 10 on target.

We also had 8 corners to their 4 and both teams made 10 fouls with united picking up 2 yellows and saints just the one.

Very good effort from the lads in terms of work-rate, pressing and in the second half, but despite us coming away from that with a decent amount of pride, we were absolutely shocking in the final third and our deliveries were woeful, it has to be said. Lallana looked very bright and upped the tempo of everything though, really glad to have him back.

MOTD 10.35pm. Sounds like we did OK. 1-2 was inevitable as ManU do enough.

Helps to have the attacking players they have though doesn't it? Kagawa's ball for their first was incredible.

I think I read somewhere earlier that we've scored four goals through our subs in the league. Le Fondre's scored 4 in the last two from coming off of the bench!

thing is though everyone's going to say how terrible united were in possession in that second half. i dont think i've ever seen pressure out of possession quite like that before anywhere though, incredible effort from the lads

If he didn't already know, I'd imagine Poche has figured out Shaw is our best LB.:)

All three promoted clubs out of the drop zone. Is that the first time this season?

We play like that against Wigan, and we will beat them.

We play like that for the rest of the season, and we will survive.

As for Reading, they have history under McDermott of being a second-half-of-the-season team and, to a lesser extent, a scorer of late goals.

Apparently the team are staying in the North West until the Wigan game. Bit of a change from Barcelona.

The stream I had was rubbish, ended up listening to the Player for the last 20. Merrington was on form tonight!

Great to have Lallana back, not sure about leaving Shaw off for so long but MP gets my vote after that second half!
