I believe the next 8 games taking us up to the beginning of April will ultimately shape our season and whether or not we will be dragged into a lower league scrap. The upcoming fixtures are a favourable mix and are as follows; Arsenal (A) Reading (H) Fulham (A) W'Ham (H) N'castle (A) W' Brom (H) E'ton (A) Villa (H) On current form I can only see the Reading and Villa home games as likely wins and if we could get a point against Fulham, West Ham & West Brom I think that would be solid based on the way we are playing at present. So what do we think we can toatl in this period?
I have gone for between 7 & 10 which would see our season safe - whether that is acceptable is a different debate.
Smither's I much appreciate these polls etc and would normally at least TRY an make some constructive views on each game we all do.. here's the BUT mate.. Not sure why, but I am still even now seething over what happened last night. So truth be told looking at those fixtures I will try and be positive with me "head on and brain in gear" Arsenal Away NOT a chance in HELL we will get anything because we ALL KNOW what "that man" will do. The FACT we would have lost anyway does not matter. We will get battered either by pure football and with goal chances converted it will be double figures. Reading Home Like Wigan, they are not a BAD footballing TEAM, looking at That man again. Anything is possible. That man would be happy with a pt, I would NOT. Fulham Away LOSE we're always useless and would only take a pt if they are as bad as us, they are NOT as bad. West Ham at home Maybe a pt right now I can't see us winning a game ot tiddley winks. Newcastle Away Last year we got totally OUTPLAYED in both fixtures, this could be ugly score wise see Arsenal. Baggies Home Er we ALWAYS beat the Baggies. Everton Away Lose this and by then I may have died of Cluelessitiss. Villa Home Should win this one but right now, I'm past caring. So let's say we SHOULD be SAFE and laughing at those who are not SAFE but we probably won't be.
Potts, like you at the moment, I don't care what happens. I would agree with your assessment of each of the games but, to be honest, after last night, I cannot see where another win will come from this season. Things appear to be in a mess at the club at the moment, this after thrashing Liverpool and completing a 10 game undefeated run against Saints after Xmas. Then came Man City away and it's all unravelling. I have gone for 0-6 pts by the way but hope I am wrong of course
7-10 for me Pulis will string a couple of results like he usually does, allways manages to just keep his arse out of the fire with the powers that be. W e really need rid of him as we've had 5 years of groundhog day now.
Think I may have been a wee bit optimistic with 11, but I'm basing it on Pulis pulling a rabbit out of the hat with deadline transfer deals and not what we currently have to offer as a side on recent form. Arsenal - Away - loss 0 points Reading - Home - win 3 points Fulham - Away - Bore draw 1 point Westham - Home - Skin of the teeth win 3 points Newcastle - Away - loss 0 points Westbrom - Home - Bore draw 1 point Everton - Away - loss 0 points Aston Villa - Home - win 3 points Total 11 points
ive lost all interest at the moment and cant be arsed to even vote, im still even now on a massive downer about where the club is going and, never mind the horrific performances but the behavior of some of our players recently its no wonder we are called thugs. What with Whelan doing tw 2-footed challenges, Nzonzi punching people and Huths forearm smashes I really worry about where our club is going. One thing is for sure as long as Pulis is manager I will NOT be going another game either home or away. What a disgrace to the premier league we have become, for the first time in my life im ashamed to support Stoke. Pulis out!!!!!
Me too Ricc. I really couldn't care less. Never thought I would ever day that. Sod.Pulis, Coates and the Prem! I want my football club back
I originally said 4 points in total coming from 4home draws and 4away defeats. I will now upscale to 5 points , the Reading win with 2 home draw points from W. Ham. and Villa to come.
I went for 9 points and got the Reading result right - just! I did think we would have got a point at Fulham so are down on that one and I predicted a draw against West Ham. The chasing pack are closing in so an unexpected win would be a pleasing result.
Without being too depressed and without denigrating our performances too much...over the last couple of seasons, one of the reasons for our 'survival' is that there have been 3 teams worse than us. What troubles me is what happened AFTER the Liverpool game on Boxing Day?? Oh and is Jones injured??
I thought West Ham were excellent tonight - doesn't bode well for our game! They reminded me of Stoke tonight - how we used to play!
