It has been published in a couple of papers as well as now the reliable Sky Sports so it would look like Birmingham are in danger of falling completely off the radar and doing a 'Portsmouth'

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/...rmingham-open-to-offers-for-all-their-players

This could be a good opportunity for us to 'poach' some decent players as it would seem as though they are trying to shed as much of their assets as possible to redress their astronomical wage expenditure - Apparently Zigic is on 40-50k a week <yikes>

I think Darren Ambrose would be one of my personal picks as well as a couple of others but it will be interesting what happens now, whether they ship out everyone and become even more dreadful or incur a 10 point deduction.. either way it benefits us in terms of league safety

I imagine he'll be Premier league bound..... for a ridiculous amount of money too, decent keeper but not a world beater (yet) but someone like Liverpool will be daft enough to spend a stupendous amount of money on him

Obviously Buckland would be appealing, but we're as likely to get him as we are to get Messi!! Other than that there's not many I would like, Chris Burke is a good winger and someone I'm sure McCarthy would like but looks like he'll go to Forrest and I'm sure there will be alot of others interested, wasn't he Championship player of the season last season??

Other than that, wouldn't mind Jonathan Spector, can play in a few positions CB, LB, CM and is also a decent footballer.

Not sure about Ambrose, he's a player similar to many players we've already got, who can play in numerous attacking positions probably best suited to the free role can play on the wing but isn't overly suited there and doesn't overly suit 442, although I wouldn't be overly against it!!

If you don't ask, you don't get. Town could feasibly offer £4m for him and £20k a week. Birmingham need to offload him for sure and if I was him I wouldn't fancy sitting behind Pepe Reina at this stage of my career, I'd want to play.

I think he can take the England jersey off Hart eventually if Hart carries on playing as poorly as he has this season.

Parachute payments help. Something we are sadly missing.

I doubt it. It will be counted as revenue and still give teams who have it an unfair advantage. Isn't it great when you get rewarded for failure!!!!!!!!!

It is always horrible to see this happen to teams. When will premier league teams learn, I think Southampton may be in trouble in years to come as they seem to be over ambitious at the moment.

However having said that someone's got to take advantage, other teams did when it happened to us! I would like to see us get either Curtis Davis or Ibanez, both good defenders at this level and we need a third center back.

    Zigic is on £55,000 p/w I believe.

" If you don't ask, you don't get. Town could feasibly offer £4m for him and £20k a week. "

I really hope this is a wind up!

I seem to recall when we into admin, Matt Holland went for £750,000 when he was previously available at £5.5 mill....... why the hell would we pay such a large transfer fee to a club in shambles !?

Also, when 19th in the championship, are we really going to nearly match our highest transfer fee ever on a goalkeeper!?

£20,000 a week wages with the football financial fairplay thing about to kick in!?!?!?

One of the most hilarious posts I think I've read in a hell of a long time!

I would certainly take Ambrose for a small fee. We need creativity, Carson / JET are out of favour, Nouble is raw, Edwards and Martin are not flying.

Westlake, continuing your fine form of nonsense posting from the Hazard thread, your post there doesn't even deserve my time to argue the toss <doh>

It may have been slightly disrespectful of your opinion but the point he made was a very valid one!!

That Brum will let him go for 750k? That he's not worth £4m? Or that £20k is extortionate wages? All three of these points are pure crap.

Bee in your bonnet today Lancs?

I'll give you the not going for such a cut down price that idea is almost as pure crap as the idea that we could ever think to get him. Other than he made very valid points!!

I would hope to eat humble pie but its a pretty deluded idea to think we could sign him, if he goes anywhere he'll go to a PL club!!

PTC you plank, I said don't ask don't get. I don't for a minute think we'd get him. Chelsea have put in a bid of £3.5m apparently, so don't think it'll be me eating humble pie.

well I think you're most likely in an army of one there. So welcome to a forum full of planks, except for yourself!!

If you don't think for a minute we will get him what was the point in you saying it?

I'll just put it out there about Messi.... if you don't ask you don't get!! I don't think for a minute we'll get him but if you don't ask yoou don't get!!
