If he goes to Anzhi he'll be playing in the same team as Samba, Eto, Diarra and a host of other Brazilians and Africans. Surely the Russians must be getting used to them by now...
so,we don't want a barca reject who is their second highest scorer, but want a player who hardly makes the bolton line-up now
Nope, he's heading into a **** storm. Albeit I'm not sure if it was the Anzhi fans, but both Chris Samba and Roberto Carlos have had banana skins thrown at them in the Anzhi careers and also had the monkey noise chanted. There's a reason Samba is jumping ship at the first opportunity.
I recommend a "deadline day chicken" celebration for everyone. Ideally it would involve two cars going off a cliff, with or without one or two people inside, like in "Rebel Without a Cause." But maybe a lively game of "Beerhunter" will suffice. Shake up one of six cans of beer. Arrange things so you forget which one you shook up. Then open them one by one against your ear. This game is more fun if you play it with a partner. Hang on. Tunisia miss a penalty. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK...
I don't know to be honest but quite often he will be on the football pitch when there is some racist abuse being directed at somebody, whether it is another team mate or a fellow countryman. You could say he might be naive to think that he can change that and be determined to play a part in stopping this kind of behaviour in Russia. But that is a big task at present. Maybe the roubles soothes away those feelings of anger at what his fellow footballers are apparently experiencing there. Either way, if he goes, then I think it says a lot about the mindset of Willian. Shakthar probably have a better hope of achieving European success. They have proved to be no pushovers for a number of seasons now.
Shakhtar have signed a "forward" called Taison recently so seems they were resigned to losing Willian and had a replacement in ready. Seems a bit mediocre though (and came from Internacional so seems some chairman can buy forwards from there) and scored 13 in 57 premier league appearences.
shhh! don't ruin our fun! if he's suffering Racist abuse though Toela, we would see him move someone else tomorrow. you never know.
That would be a good move all round. With regular football Tommy may get back to his best form. On his day he is a joy to watch.
Fulham linked with a £5m bid for Huddlestone. Don't all chip in for the cab fare... If it's not Charlotte Thorstvedt, I'm not interested. Much...
Apparently this is the latest on negredo. "positive. We want to pay half the fee upfront and rest in staged payments - still needs sorting - But not far away" We should know more by lunch time, supposedly.
