isn't Cornelius one of the main characters from the film planet of the apes? I have visions of all the South Stand doing impersonations of apes in his honour, and the club getting charged with racism..
Did anybody see the real-life Bale lookalike - also at Spurs? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...Bale-lookalike-at-Tottenham-Kenny-McEvoy.html Back on the Cornelius thing - I'd be happy to have him, but not at the expense of Connor (ie not Fletcher, Graham, Cornelius). My rationale for this is that we'd be shipping out a £8m unproven 19-yr-old prospect (at a big ££ loss) to replace him with a £7m unproven 19-yr-old prospect... The reason that I'd take him over Graham (ie Fletcher, Wickham, Cornelius) is that at least Connor and Cornelius will both have some resale value in 3 or 4 years, even if they are overhyped as prospects. Both could equally go on to be CL-quality and could be sold for £20m. Graham will have no resale value and will also not go on to be CL-quality.
Because Graham is 27 and Wickham and Cornelius are both 19? Don't understand how my comments don't make sense. You might not agree, but that's something different altogether. If it doesn't work out we sell them on and make some money back. That's a benefit for the club. If it does work out and they move on to a bigger club then we get Bent/Hendo style money. Also a good thing. I didn't say that Wickham would be Champions League, but he definitely could be. There's a reason he was much-hyped before we got him and why LFC were also in for him. Just because you don't rate him after what - 2 starts this season? - doesn't mean he's no good. Anyway, the point I made makes perfect sense. If we replaced Wickham with Cornelius we'd be throwing in the towel on one expensive teenage prospect, without giving him the game time to develop and prove himself. And we'd be replacing him with... another expensive teenage prospect... who also probably wouldn't get the game time to prove himself...
If Wickham was going to be a great he would of started by now fowler,Rooney,Owen, oxlaide all quality and playing week in week out at age 17/18.Im not saying I don't rate Wickham but he will never be great he maybe half decent but that is all.We need a complete opposite to fletcher in a nimble quick forward not a bunch of giants. The more big strikers we buy the less likely we will play 2 up front.
Wasn't a bloke called Cornelius the Minister of Magic in the majority of the Harry Potter books? Fudge if my memory serves me correctly..
