you will not hear too much too often from 'Umbersard about City for a while. The dummy has dropped right out. They will continue to repeat twitter and the Hull Daily Mail stuff to fil a 'City Slot' in their bulletins. remember, they have plenty of fillers starting this weekend on the rugby!
a guy from King Fut was formally interviewed via webcam on the bbc, 2 days ago, in relation to the football/violence, anyone see that, the guy knew what he was talking about, so im assuming its quite an established/known site.
Unless they're making it up, they have quotes from the players and club officials, so clearly something is happening.
Hey guys, Find it a little disappointing that people claim we're "making this up" as the news is on almost every football site in egypt (including the club's official website, but in Arabic). We're working extremely hard to get the latest on the story here and we should have a conclusion tomorrow - apologies if we're working harder than your local news. Here's the club director talking about the loan offers in Arabic on TV last night, after our story was released: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=vwU8KQ6bulU#! (fast forward to 4:24 and you'll hear about Gedo & Fathi). It's promising talk but i'm worried if I translate it I'll be accused of "making it up". P.S. I was the guy on BBC, glad you tuned in dogpoo!
Dont worry I dont think hardly any of us think you are making anything up. A quick search on the Ultras website in Cairo for instance would show a couple articles on this as well so no one should question whether or not you are making it up. It is probably more of an issue with our team being much more closed lipped about transfers under Bruce. The local reporters do not seem to be getting leaks like normal. Since both Gedo and Fathi are from an Egyptian club and not an English Club the local reporters do not have contacts within Al Ahly like they would if we were trying to get a player from Leeds for instance. Also since both Bruce and the Allams are relatively new less of our fans are in the know as well so that makes people question more than they aught to. That is just my guess anyway. Thanks for all the info on this, if you were not passing it along we wouldn't know anything. Uh, do you have a clip of you on the bbc that you can link us?
On behalf of myself (I don't suppose to speak for anyone else), sorry that you are 'disappointed' but we Hull fans seem to have developed an inherent scepticism these days. We've been subjected to so many 'non transfer' stories, people 'hilariously' making up transfer stories or indeed long drawn out sagas that don't seem to go anywhere in recent years that we tend to not believe anything until we see something official. The lack of noise at our end in Blighty on this particular deal(s) only adds to that, which Im sure you can appreciate. Other than one comment from Bruce that we have 'an interest' in an unnamed Egyptian, you guys are literally the only ones talking about this. Essentially we all seem pretty keen for this to happen so we look forward to your updates throughout today. Cheers.
My point was more about Humberside i thought they'd have been all over this story like a cheap suit, but mussie might be right because they havent had anything on city for a few days now which is strange
I've said before that they've been pissed off since Bruce's appointment because of his perceived close relationship with Phil Buckingham.
well said , you are working harder than most of the local based "journalists" and you are a fine example as to why local BBC journalism is a dying art . At this end we have local media scouring forums much like these , picking up a popular story/thread/rumour , running it as a story with a source without offering any real credible journalistic value.
We need to buy lots of Egyptian flags for when they run out onto the pitch at the KC .. Iv got mine already so they better be coming
I like the bit in that HDM article that says "according to sources" what they really mean is "I read on an Internet forum".
Hull City is a club that the transfer window has proved to be a none event for years. We have all sat watching the clock as the window closed without news. I for one never expected Steve Bruce to manage us, but when I look back, I have suspicion that the reason that Assem Allam wanted him here was in part due to his links with Egyption players. I do think that this has all been planned for sometime. But that the Port Said incident altered the time plan. Our own player injury list has hastened the need to bring players in, whilst the lack of matches has meant players now seeking new pastures away from Egypt. I do not think that we were in for Gedo until recently, more likely we would take young players on to develop them in the English game and then help put them in the shop window. I do not think that we were expecting to be as high in the league as we are either. Now we have to consider the fact that we are contending for promotion and that in order to sustain the push we need to strengthen. It is all very changeable at Hull City and it is hard for us as fans to get used to the pressure of being so close. We have to doubt, because if we have been promised so much before and it has not happened, this time lets hope that we get the players that we need and get the promotion that we deserve.
looks like it could be an interesting day tomorrow - for us at least. But most of the day nothing happens - having watched the final day of the Transfer window one day on Sky Sports News, it was tedious, boring and a waste of time. I don't see Bruce as being a manager who would accept players being brought in which he didn't want to sign (which I know some clubs do do with foreign owners), as he is ambitious at the end of the day - and has, let us all face facts, one eye on being in consideration to be next Man Utd manager.
cant believe this as has 18,000 views in less than 48 hours, when i post a hull city one it takes me about a week to get 200 views lol, if i knew it was going to be that popular i would have spent more time on it only took me 15mins lol
Matt Dean ‏@mattdeanradio Just spoken to a board member of Al-Ahly who says loan deals for Geddo & Fahti "might be signed today" with #hcafc.More @RadioHumberside 1pm
