I've had urges for Chinese all weekend.

I've managed to stay in all weekend. Only two tins of beer and 1 glass of wine consumed.

Had stew and dumplings last night with cabbage and mash, then American style treacle tart. Which I don't recommend.. The English version is far superior.

Good day out yesterday, great meal to finish.

I had French onion soup starter and Beef Bourginon on the bone as main, it was delicious. Mash and haricot vert with it, the sauce was superb.
    Shared crepes as dessert.

Two pints of Butcombe Porter in pub before, a tidy Merlot with the meal (the only reasonably priced wine in the place, everything else was at least £25+) and a large tanquaray and schweppes to wash it down.

Having pork chops as a Sunday tea later, think I'll have a pizza for dinner.

Got a nice recipe I'll be doing this week, one of Hugh FW's efforts. Sausage, puy lentil and prune casserole. Looks the bollocks, think that'll be Tuesday.

Bacon mushroom and fried egg on tiger bread sandwich.

Haven't decided about tonight yet. Quite fancy roast beef dinner.. Watched meet the parents last night they had some amazing looking beef so I'd like some rare beef and roasted things.

Did a load of pork shoulder in the slow cooker for 8 hours with a dash of rum salt and pepper and a chipotle salsa to go with it and wraps.

Funnily enough, we had slow cooked pork yesterday too. I was in all day though so it was in the oven, loin chops done in an onion gravy in the casserole. Really nice, pork works well with this as you say as it does start to melt in the mouth.

That beef bourgignon I has Saturday night was like that, bloody lovely.

Got chicken salad for dinner today, bought a rotisserie chicken reduced in co op yesterday for three quid. Bargain, you get a couple of meals and dinners out of one.
Shudder to think what life the poor chicken had prior to its death but you have to occasionally blank there things out.

Luv, away from the football threads, do you genuinely still think Joe Allen will make it? I mwhen he signed you said you think he will and, as someone who's opionion I respected as it was based on having seen the bloke play, I noted this. I always thought he was already at his level and might not be able to stgep up, still think that and it's looking that way too. Plenty time though I guess but he never anything other than a £5 million player, absolute tops.

He's not playing well at the moment, the worst I've ever seen him play and this is down to the fact that the team around him are not playing how is is used to playing.

I thought Rodgers wanted us to play in the same style as Swansea last season and I think he started out that way but the fact is we don't have the right players to do this at the moment. At least Rodgers realised this and adapted the style.

    I thought we would play

    ----Lucas----
    Gerrard--Allen

And I thought it would work, but Gerrard doesn't want or need to give Allen the ball all the time like Britton did at Swansea and our whole team is playing much more direct than Swansea do, Allen is then struggling to fit in.

I'm really at a loss as to the next step, we need better players quite simply and this Coutinho would be a good start but I don't rate a lot of our players.

    Good work luv.. Photo??

Well I drank a days worth of calories yesterday by consuming 8 pints of ale. Then drunkenly cooked a roast chicken dinner last night.

This evening I suspect will be a tea of beans on toast.

    ****ing hell I've failed today.

Made a roast chicken wholewheat pasta salad for dinner, looking good and healthy and tasty.

Trouble is, was starving mid morning so called in for the obligatory weekly MacD breakfast and now since getting back into the offices some ****er must be having a birthday as there are dougnuts everywhere and I've gone and eaten two.

May as well be hung as a heep though, if you're going to eat **** do it all on one day.

Not sure what's for tea tonight but tomorrow is sausage, lentil and prune casserole, I will upload pictures.

Yeah, it does. It looks good in picture though so I will give it a go and see how it turns out.

It's Hugh Fearnley one, out of Guardian food magazine. There's a load of your favourites in there of a Sunday, what's his face, simple suppers?

I think my allowance would in the region of 2500 calories and would still be under enough to lose weight. Sounds like you're under selling yourself.

Diets really suck but I'm going to have to knuckle down soon. Getting pretty big lately doesn't help that I can't really do much running about anymore due to knackered knees and a lung condition. So I have to diet and can't really go walking untill the weather gets better.

When I get going I'm quite good and will stick to it for a long period, just need that kick.

Got half a joint of pork shoulder to use up first, chilli in the slow cooker on the weekend is looking fav.
