BBC Sports New today :- According to reports in Italy, Philippe Coutinho's move to Liverpool is a done deal and the Brazilian will have a medical on Monday. Inter are resigned to losing him, satisfied by Liverpool's offer of £8.5m (10m euros, plus 2.5m euros in bonuses) and aim to replace him with another Brazilian, Corinthians' Paulinho. That is a bit puzzling, buying him this week and medical on Monday? Must mean today? No news about it on Skysports Rodgers was a bit negative.
Rodgers said there has only been talk between the two clubs, so either the Italian Media are getting ahead of themselves, or Rodgers is keeping his cards close to his chest.
Speculation that Wigan are looking at Sebastian Coates. After his performance yesterday, I heartily endorse this idea.
QPR wanted that Rolando chappy right? Seems he has gone off the deal. Mainly because Napoli have sent a representative to Portugal to talk to him about going to Italy.
Guillem Balague‏@GuillemBalague Queens Park Rangers are increasingly confident of signing Rolando from FC Porto. #QPR #FCP ___________________________________- Isn't this guy usually quite reliable though? There was a link, but my interest dropped off.
Dave Kitson is apparently interested in coming to the MLS later in his career... I don't want him there personally, but that's just me.
See Coutinho is trying to get a work permit, but may have a problem because he only has one cap. This is what I mentioned when we were interested. Pretty sure that this will be sorted though as Liverpool must have done some work on this.
Harry may be about to sign Crouch...he got rid of him at Spurs. Presumably he's just hoovering up everyone...is there a plan to his signings? Apparently there was a punch up in QPR's dressing room...on Sky, someone said, 'I'm surprised there's room for a fight.'
Why do they want him? Their future number 1 is Courtois, and he's only 20 so Butland won't get a look in.
If they can prove he is talented enough to be a benefit to the English game, he'd get a work permit. I think that's the way they do it with those who don't meet the criteria caps-wise.
He is also young and couldn't be expected to have many full caps. We had to go to appeal for Tadanari though, but then Coutinho has more potential than him.
Because it helps to have more than one goalkeeper? Something everyone on here saying "but we have Gazzaniga! why do we need another goalkeeper?" doesn't seem to understand. They say that as if Gazzaniga is a world-beater as well, where did this come from? He might turn out to be another Bialkowski for all we know.
Agreed. I've always said that I'd like Butland too. We'd then have two good young keeprs to push Boruc for the jersey.
I always liked Bialkowski. Never really got the extended run he deserved... Fun fact, he was ahead of Wojchiech Szcznesny in the pecking order for Poland at the U20 World Cup in 2007.
if we buy butland it will be survival of the fittest, only one of Gazza or Butland would make it, 4 keepers would be a bit excessive
