Not sure I agree with his final comments:

"I'd obviously love to see us promoted to the Premier League, to see Watford on Match of the Day and to get some of the best players in the world to Vicarage Road.

"But If I'm honest, I'd like to have that for a season, maybe even two, but I think with the ground that we have, and generally Watford as a club, a lot of it's charm would be lost if we weren't a Football League team - I love The Football League."

He's basically saying it would be good to get promoted but only for a couple of seasons and then back down to the FL again. If we go up I want us to stay up, if it means we have to wait another couple of seasons to get the team, stadium, etc, sorted then so be it.

He seems to be suggesting that what we're doing is something new and somehow 'not English'...but I seem to remember that O'Driscoll had Donny playing passing football a few seasons back. I suppose he's just looking for things to say at a press conference.

Snowing again here, fine snow today. We have 1C but the wind makes that colder. Víkurskarð and Öxnadalsheiði are cut off because of snow and cars abandoned, people are told not to go to Norðurland and the rescue team is working in Siglufjördur. I do not know how much snow is there, but it is much more than here in the city and we have enough to cover your shoes.

I thought FIFA had a rule that a country's government couldn't interfere with footballing matters? Hasn't there been a few countries sanctioned after some kind of government intervention?

If it improves the game, and makes fees/wages/ticket prices more realistic, then I'm all for it!

Morning all from a very mild West West London - 9C when I left bandit country.

Thanks for the frothy AK - much appreciated, even though our government are not too happy with yours <yikes>

BB - I would welcome the government forcing the football authorities to move into the 21st Century. How can a business like this be run by multiple organisations consisting of highly paid executive and old duffers in blazers?

Reading some comments from a Watford fan who has not been able to see the team for 5 years.

The line up at his last game was.

    R Lee, L Doyley, A Mariappa, L Bromby, M Sadler, T Smith, J O'Toole, J
    Eustace, J McAnuff (L Ainsworth, 81), S Kabba (D Henderson, 69), N
    Ellington (A Bangura, 89)

He will be at the match tonight, so I think he will notice a difference.

Afternoon all, very difficult day so far. Feeling very rough due to flu like illness. Both kids were up all night so very little sleep and then to top it off we had to visit a special needs school that my son might be attending in September. Brain has now shut down due to overload and my body is struggling to get to the end of the day :(. Only positive I can see is hopefully the match is on tonight and we get 3 points!!! COYH!!!
