Lawro, oddly, had us outperforming out actual points total by a considerable margin for the first third of the year...fitting in with his tendency to be wrong at all times, he was predicting positive results when we were losing left and right, and now is predicting losses left and right while we're getting positive results.

Actually, no. Lawro's predictions thus far would have us as 13th in the Premier League.

Mind you, he does have QPR 7th.

I think that sums up Lawro perfectly as a football "expert".

His comments about Forren getting up to speed fitness-wise are interesting. Said he last played in December (assume he means beginning of?), he mentions that he may be playing a bit of catch up. I wonder whether Jos will still start. Journos will no doubt enjoy press conferences with Pochettino as he is more open. Disclosed more information about the Coutinho saga than we would ever hear from Adkins. It sounds unlikely that we'll secure any more signings by the transfer deadline. Noteworthy that he is keen to express his little English so far - he corrects the translator in English saying '45' people went to Barca, thinking the translator was incorrect in what he was saying.

What self-respecting Saints fan would bet on and therefore desire a more negative outcome than current standings?

If I was Rickie I would wear a shirt under his Saints shirt saying: "That's how to take a penalty" and shove it in both Rooney's and RVP's faces in the event we get a penalty and is converted by Rickie.

You just suggested the away team getting a penalty at Old Trafford.

Now go and stand in the corner and think about how stupid you've been.

Come back when you have realised.

Watch from 13 minutes. On second hearing, he corrects the translator and says 55.

Yeah I know but it's just fate that the country's best penalty taker arrives at Old Trafford coincides with the first penalty being awarded for the visiting team for ages.

Towards the end of the interview on Player. He interrupted the translator and corrected him by saying forty-five...when he speaks English, his accent is good...have high hopes he'll be easier to understand than City's manager. I love his very long answers...can only imagine the interpreter's face as he goes on and on. :) He seems to understand a fair bit of what is asked...he smiles in the right places before the question is translated.

I first thought he said forty-five and even though the translator was just rounding up by saying 'nearly 50', the 50 being all Pochinetto hears so corrects him. But actually I think Pochinetto corrects and says fifty-five which you can hear as he says cincuenta y cinco initially.I think we'll see a big jump when he has the confidence to answer in English, you'd imagine he already has the capability to do so, at least partially, but doesn't want to be misinterpreted/sound like Mancini. The man is learning!

I'm waiting for the moment Mauricio says one sentence too many and the interpreter snaps and tries to strangle him.<laugh>

Think he understands perfectly and could probably answer most questions in English. sensible though to give himself more time.

That's ridiculous and here is why...
    1. He was clearly talking to the players in the Everton game - what do you think he was saying them "slinky pinky Chrissy Waddle - scorchio!" His English is good enough to make his opinions clear to the players but not good enough to get on stage and do Shakespeare - similar to my French.....

    2. If his English isn't articulate enough for the press then it is incredibly sensible to use a translator. There are so many occasions when a manager has looked foolish in front of the press as he can't talk perfect English. The press twist the answers of English managers so someone who is getting used to the intricacies of a new language could suddenly get slated for saying the wrong thing unintentionally.

    -----------------------Boruc----------------------
    Clyne---------Yoshi----------Jos---------Shaw
    -----------Spider---------------Cork---------------
    ---------------------Gaston------------------------
    Puncheon---------Lambert------------Fox-------

Would be a strong line-up, with sustained pressing and clinical finishing we could win. Lallana and Rodriguez to come on as a subs would be handy if we are winning as they would be good outlets. Going for a 2-1 win

I wonder what Poch will make of Tadanari....if he doesn't rate him either, he'll probably be moved on. But perhaps he will see something different that may suit his style.
