Fine, I'll pay your ridiculous fees. On with the RoadRunner Grand Prix on the streets of RoadRunneropolis
4 lights, 5 lights and we we’re go go go at the Long Island grand prix! As the lights went out both loti fell back from the front row (some suggesting bodged traction control and calling for a stewards enquiry). All cars made it out of the first corner intact with Paco leading the way followed by Iceman and di Fredsta. Paco and Iceman pulled away from the following group over the first few laps but the intense heat was clearing getting to the Iceman as he pulled off the track to pick up a Ice-cream, losing 2 laps in the process. Further down the field Eternal was all over di Fredsta, diving left and then right (which is the general idea through chicanes). El_Bando and RoadRunner were driving almost in formation as they picked their way back up the pack following their botched start. As the field went through a first round of stops Sportydan managed to show excellent pitstop stopping management and managed to jump Julius to move up to 9th. The rest of the grid seemed to stay in formation, even though El_Bando briefly got out of his car to pick up his female body inspected card. Now we were in the second stint the red mist began to fall, SgtBhaji was seen throwing sausages at Gay Bacon Strips whilst Eternal made lunge down the inside of di_Fredsta from many metres back. After the sausage incident Gay Bacon really had to put his foot down, pulling away from the ever lightening Sgt, leaving him to do battle with Nazara. Through the 2nd round of stops Eternal managed to catch Paco and looked on for the win, edging closer and closer at an alarming rate. Further down the pack other than Nazara and Sgt everyone else seemed afraid to get near each other, perhaps related to the recent Lasers on a Plane incident, but thats for another day. Amazingly Paco held off Eternal and pulled out a full 4 seconds on the final lap after realising he had the mat in his foot well caught under the pedals. Paco took the flag followed by the bemused Eternal and di_Fredsta, who had done well to keep ahead of the faster Lotus. 1. Paco Montoya 2. EternalMSC + 04.21s 3. di Fredsta! + 09.99s 4.
