Oh great. Didn't we play Luke at LM in pre-season? Maybe he can go there and put Foxy back in. Or Rodriguez? Or Gaston and Jay and Rickie together? Or Ramirez wide and Steve Davis in midfield with Jack and Morgan?
I think Adam will start before SDR even if he has to hop! Mind you, a sneaky feeling tells me De Ridder will come on and grab a winner, and then we'll sell him for £5 million.
Mark Bryans of the Press Association on Twitter: "Having been at the #EFC draw and today's presser Mauricio Pochettino is a man with self-conviction, good humour & great knowledge"
If anything it should be the other way round. Shaw is a much better defender and overlaps very well so he should be LB.
Lallana to start if at all possible, I don't reckon he's going to last 90mins though...hopefully we'll be 4-0 up by the time De Ridder comes on.
MP hinted that lallana won't be fit, so thats guly and lallana out. Who to play on the left? Fox would be a good conservative option, as previously suggested great delivery and we don't have to worry about his shakey defence. Not de ridder please. You said forren LB?! he's a Cb right? And hasn't played in a while if I'm correct. I wouldn't think MP will play him out of position on his debut and push Shaw out of LB when he's been doing an immense job. As far as I see it if Lallana's not back the options for LM would be J-Rod, Fox, Lee or (sigh) De Ridder. I would like to see Mayuka at this point! I'm very down on de ridder, although with MP's pressing style of play do you think we could get more out of him?
