Strach, I think you're confusing me with someone who knows anything about him! Haven't a clue how he plays, how good he is etc., but delighted if he does sign. We need good news - don't get it very often. you seem to know something about him - tell us more!
Ok pal, lol, he holds the ball up very well, nice touch for a big lad, he is only 25 so a mere child compared to some signings he scores 1 in every 3 but I feel he would benefit from playing in a better team he is 6ft4 so tends to win most things in the air. If he does sign for us I will be happy as I think he would be a great foil for Ross up front.
Becchio requested the transfer, he doesnt want to play for us anymore!! Why the **** would you want someone who isnt going to give 100%? Why wait till he's out of contract when we could get 2-3m for him now? (different situation with beckford, becuase his goals had a very realistic chance of getting us out of L1) Half his goals have been penalties, and i know it sounds daft but he isnt really in good form in terms of actual footballing ability...he is scoring goals but its at the cost of us playing football. The players try hoofing it from centre & full back and he hasnt been holding it up well, or even trapping the ball well. Many counter attacks break down when we use him. We already have a 20+ goal striker in McCormack, and yesterday showed the football this group of players can actually play. Was nice to watch for once.
You don't believe what Becchios agent is saying then, okay fine.. Where did I say allow him to allow his contract to run out, do you actually read the posts? He has 18 months left, another 6 months is going to make no difference.
I can see Marko's point, I don't often agree with him. 1) We have a striker on 19 goals this season and a proven goal scorer season upon season 2) We sell him and replace him with a complete gamble It is a no win situation, if he scores goals like Becchio it is a straight swap, if he doesn't it was a bad move. Where is the guy from, I am just hoping not an African nation or once again each year come this period of time we will lose him to the African Nations. I would welcome a gamble signing like this if it did not mean selling Becchio. Again Becchio has 18 months to run, keep him, or can't we because GFH are liars and they are broke.
Own up, how many of us would have been jumping and cheering if we had brought in the lad Wood, before he went to the foxes. We know Warnock was after him, but couldn't compete with the foxes. I knew little about him, but hes a bit of a sensation at Leicester and has scored a bag full since signing. So I suspect some on here would have not been too fussed about us getting him, but to be fair he's produced the goods. So surly Warnock must know someone similar to Wood? A manager needs to know what someone will do in a particular formation and Pearson has managed it with Wood, and Warnock told us all that Becchio would score loads of goals and be his front man, which he's done, but Becchio thinks he deserves better. If he goes, he goes and although he's scored plenty I think this is his worst season for us, so bye bye Luciano and thanks
Ristac, apologies...you didnt say let the contact run out! Although running a further 6mnths down, would decrease his value going in to his final 12mnths. You believe what his agent (the person paid to get the most money for him at anytime)?....ok, fine! You believe he would really stay in Leeds on less money rather than leave?? And the last footballer to do that was..... We dont have to replace him imo...Ross would score the goals, spend the money on a very creative AM and/or Pacey Winger
I would 100% agree with this, however Warnock has made no secret that number one priority is another striker. I don't have a problem selling Becchio to strengthen areas that need improving, I do have a problem selling him for an unproven striker.
