Cantona was made captain of Manchester Utd in his first season back after his worldwide ban for the Kung Fu attack, Fergie even went to France to kiss Eric's arse and beg him not to leave Utd, desperation or loyalty to a player?

Thanks, 2 out of my last 5 reps are by Astrowotsit, clearly King of the Reps. They are also the only two that have comments so Astro is clearly also King of the Toomuchtimeonhishands.

  3. Fair point but didn't Gary Nevilla let the cat out of the bag last week that that is how the Man Utd dressing room is after every mistake...? <whistle>

I actually quite like the idea of Suarez as captain. He is passionate and fights for the cause.

    Excellent point oo <ok>

I was waiting for someone to bring that up. It's easy to answer though Page as they are 2 completely different issues.

Cantona did wrong, the club admitted it and he served him penalty. At no point did he show disloyalty to United or Fergie.

    Suarez however :

    1) Was disrespected Kenny and your club by saying he would shake hands and refusing to do so with the whole Evra bollocks.
    2) Made Rodgers look a dick after he has defended him time and time again ( which a good manager should do in public ) and the Suarez came out and admitted to diving. Cantona may have been alot of things but disloyal to United or SAF are certainly not on that list.

Plus, the time spans are completely different <ok>

Or, Cantona brought shame on Manchester Utd and and received a prison sentence(commuted to community hours)and a worldwide ban from football, yet his manager all but begged him not to leave Utd and rewarded him the following season with the captains armband after Steve Bruce got injured.

Rose tinted glasses from us and from you Eric.:bandit:

We could go round and round in cricles on the differences.

I'm not saying Suarez should never caprtain LFC, I'm simply saying that it seems odd a week after he made the manager look a tit it was a odd choice for that manager to then make Suarez captain in such a short period of time.

Your deflection is always appreciated though Page, you ****er <laugh>

  11. Of course, we could take it a hell of a lot further, how many captains are perfect role models...? Gerrard, Terry, Giggs, Rio, Lampard, etc. they all have 'backgrounds'!

    Afternoon tosspigs.

I'm now back from client visits/birthday. I was overwhelmed by the number of PMs I received last Thursday on my birthday - NOT. After Swarbs flagged it up and gave you all an opportunity to buy me a pint of Carling as well. What happened yesterday by the way?

I was actually kidding. Robbo was a booze fueled hound.

    #38437
  18. I thought Robbo was a model pro? Beyond his time and all that? I must be getting mixed up with someone else but could have sworn he and Strachan were sort of competitors with each other as to who was the fittest etc?
