Most posters in the latter days , myself included , have been unsupportive of how the manager prefers his team to play , ie rigid , mechanical , lifeless. But we have a team coach in Gerry , who in his playing days was at the opposite end of the footballing spectrum to that what we see at Stoke today. Can I appeal to you Gerry , can you please speak to TP and show him the error of his ways ?:emoticon-0165-muscl

Absolutely correct KKB, Gerry Francis was a class act as a footballer, mullet aside.
Gawd know what his input is at Stoke, never been able to figure it out, I suppose if he was that bothered about 'proper' football and not pulisball, he would have left ages ago. A conundrum indeed.

You may well be right, even if what you said was I know in jest! Have thought about "That guy" and an excellent player he was.
AS to what he actually does do. Be it on the training pitch, during games, in the dressing room" It cetainly looks like alll answers come to didley squat.

Is it worth writing to someone at the Sentinel or Radio Stoke? Then again, it may be that they know even less than we do.

In short Sod All! And if we pay the guy or do we pay him a nominal fee? Again we don't know.
    Smither's I wonder
Is he just a yes man? Myself I doubt it mate. Unlkie Mr P he knows football inside out and I mean ( proper football) which makes the original question even more curious.

    Potts,

Truth be told I don't know what his job entails, probably some form of club ambassador, but watching games this weekend it stuck me that far more basic teams than ourselves seem to be able to pass the ball around far better than we do, we buy players who have played decent football for previous teams and within weeks would struggle to pass wind and insuch lose resale value. Pulis must be one hell of a control freak to overcome such basic footballing skills.

    Quite true Jowler
I said this ages ago. ANY Pro football player who can NOT pass to a fellow team mate lets say just simple crossfield passes, the type of ball control we even learn
or at least I did years ago in the local park, or the local back yard behind my Nan's house. In short IF you have to teach any Pro player to do such basic things.

It beggars belief that for the last few season's. OUR player's are well CRAP. Watched the Oldham v Liverpool game and even they looked a decent enough outfit.
They could pass the ball. And to think their League records is.. Last 8 games. Lost SEVEN and drawn 1. They knocked the ball around really well. = BASIC SKILLS.

WHY can't our lads to that? is just pathetic and I can only lay the blame on one person. They guy who told them they we're good enough and still thinks they are good enough. Pft.

    Potts,

It's not just the basic passing stuff, the teams a saw at the weekend all had a go at em, while we have the dynasm of a dead gerbil.
