After defeating the European Champions over two legs and having a deserved weekend off, it's a long trek on Tuesday for the Swans. The Jack Army will have an early start with buses leaving the Liberty Stadium at 9.30am. Martin O'Neill will be looking to ambush The Swans and grab all three points. Could be a hangover match for the Swans so a point would be most welcome. The match is live on Sky Sports.
I fancy a return to the defence first system with us playing on the break. I think defensivly we got the bit between the teeth so im going for a sneaky win or a tight draw. If this was a brenden game id be happy to concede a home win but times they are a changing
Going to be a long day for those of us travelling up on the Ugo express (minus Ugo I might add), Sunderland will be confident having won their last two games so we will have to work hard to come away with anything.
god i dislike MON so a nice 1-2 win .to those travelling have a good but long day out.(no more time off from work for me I'm afraid)
Hi Swans. Looking forward to the game. Your having another good season I see. No way will this be 0-0. we have started to get it together over the last 7/8 games. Decent attacking play, making lots of chances, Johnson and Sess playing well after a very slow start. New midfielder (N'Diaye) seems to have put a bit of umph into the midfield. And the defence still pretty strong. Result for me depends on how you try to play the game. have a go and you've a chance of getting something for sure. play you tippy tappy possession football like you did last year and that will suit us fine as we like to let the oppo have the ball and break fast. Going for 2-1 home win and well done (in advance) to all who make the trip. Bit of a killer that being midweek and on TV.
Sorry but Tuesday's game is when we burst your bubble . 1-3 ,Michu's due a goal now and I feel this will be the game where he get's one or two.
Can't see us getting beat tbh. Soon find out eh. whats the prob with MON by the way? Superb person and manager,
Reckon that's how we've caught out a few teams this year...thanks to lazy assumptions (largely perpetuated by lazy pundits.) I actually think we've changed our style more this season than the previous 3-4! Best thing is we are still capable of playing the tippy-tappy if needed, but now have a whole new selection of plans to call on. Unfortunately we'll prob be playing on the break in this, and by the sounds of it so will Sunderland...0-0
That's why I went for 0-0 too, NS. Two defences that have improved lately. Would love to be proved wrong provided we come away with more though.
I wonder how much our pending Wembley appearance will impact on this and other league games? Yes, I know all the arguments about being professional and the league is our priority etc, but there's no doubt it will affect how some players will perform, regardless. There is bound to be an element of not wanting to miss Wembley by risking injury in a 50/50 situation; players are only human after all and it is almost certain that there will be an element of safety first in our play, no matter how small. The trouble is that margins are so fine at this level, it only takes one or two players to be of this mind set, to lose us points. I'm sure that Michael Laudrup will insist that his players maintain their full focus but nevertheless....... The counter argument is that everyone will be playing for their Wembley place but it isn't as if we have huge competition for places. With all that in mind, I will settle for a draw all day long against a resurgent Sunderland side that will be 100% focused on league points.
He is a miserable git, who walks away from jobs when he cant get his own way. Just my opinion of course. I actually think this will be difficult one. Crazy scheduling, one of our longest trips and one of our only midweek league games. will be happy with a point.
As long as the players put wembley at the back of their heads then we can win this 3-1....Michu double and i fancy dyer to come back to form....
