I don't think we will need 40 points this season to stop up. 5 more wins with a couple of draws should see us right.

Hopefully we can manage that alright.

If the guys have any pride and play for the shirt it shouldn't be too difficult.

Absoluetly.,got some decent home fixture in there which we need to be winning with a couple of winable away. A few unexpected points here and there and we will be ok. Keep the first half reading performance going for 90 mins and we are laughing. I think sissoko is going o make a massive difference to our side. Mbiwa also. Two very impressive signings.

I feel a lot more confident now at reaching safety than I did 2 weeks ago. Hope we are safe before the Mackems come a callin' so we can have another 5under1and.

Pretty sensible assessment. The results you would hope for basically. Obviously it never goes exactly to script.

We really need to find some form soon though if we want to make this a reality!

I think you forget 5 new players their confidence will be high HBA coming back and hasn't been on this bad run. I believe with our strongest team out we have a chance of points in every game I see a strong finish get over 50pts and semis of europa

Alan - "Mike, give me money to build a decent team"

Mike - "Why do you think I should give you money to build a decent team?"

Alan - "If you build it, they will come....."

    Sorry!

I thought about it, but as a newbie, it would have been a bit cheeky!

I know it's not a priority, but I think we should try and field as strong a team as (logically) possible against Metalist. Not so much for progression, but to try and get/keep some momentum going. Seeing as we have a much more rounded squad, it doesn't make sense playing SAmeobi, Gosling (if fit), Ranger (!!!), Ferguson, Bigi or any of the other fringe players in this game. They've shown (not Bigi so much), that they're not up to it, and it would just be a wasted opportunity. Would be an exercise in futility if you ask me, if we fielded a severely weakened team in Europa. I think it could be a really good chance to get this new team to gel. If we don't get a result, so be it. At least we wont be as pitiful as we were in the away game at Bordeaux.

As for the rest of the PL fixtures go, I think we've got a good chance at getting some points on the board. Just as long as the new players give us the lift that's so desperately needed. I'm really hoping they don't get dragged down with the current malaise that's taken hold at St. James'.
