Just because he's not a household name doesn't mean he's not any good. I get where you're coming from but sometimes you can find a gem that nobody else has even looked at - Michu at Swansea for example. Perhaps you're forgetting we plucked out Becchio himself from nowhere? At least give the guy a chance to prove himself before assuming he's ****.
I never said he was ****, I am saying we have a striker on form scoring goals and as we approach an important part of the season where we need to strengthen the squad and push on and gain a play off spot we instead sell that leading scorer and gamble on an unproven. By all means sign the guy but not sell Becchio at this stage of the season, wait until the season has finished, he has 18 months on his contract to run.
Exactly and where has the famous policy of "we will only sign players who will strengthen the squad" gone to. Oh I forgot, with Becchio geing replaced by Varney today, technically Habibou will be improving the team
