Here are the stats for last season which just ended. Boyd is hard to find but he is there. Perhaps there is another name you recognize that you would want.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be great to sign the likes of Wondo & anyone else who's good, my point is that players like that will fancy themselves to be better than a Championship club to start with, no matter how high in the league we are. They aren't going to come here.
Stats mean nothing, different leagues etc. we all know that Gedo is great in Egypt & at the ACON he was top scorer, but who knows what he'd be like here. Any player is a gamble & I have seen some good players & terrible players at Hull & other places too. Some players are great in some places & some are ****. If at 11:55 we haven't signed anyone then Boyd would be as much of a gamble as any other player.
I think SB isn't actually looking for anyone at the moment In terms of permanent or half season loan, don't know why, he seems to be either not bothered or has an emergency loan player in mind. Either this or there is the worlds greatest smokescreen going on.

I think you dont give the Championship enough credit. You might not think that people would chose to travel half way around the world to play in Englands 2nd top league but they would and plenty have. There are Americans playing for Derby, Blackburn, Charlton, MK Dons, Wartford, Leeds, Dover, Sheffield Wednesday, Bolton, Millwall and there are others playing in lower level French, German, Italian leagues and probably many more. Far fewer Americans play in top leagues like the PL than play for the lower leagues in the same country.

I also agree clearly we wont be looking here.

At the end of the day, we all have our opinions, no one is right, no one is wrong, unless the situation actually occurs, even then I'm sure opinions will be divided. But we all have one goal in common, we all want the best for HCAFC, and I'll support them whatever happens.

Cousin is a free agent, he got 17 goals in 16 games last season.

Boyd is the polar opposite of what we need, we don't need a striker who stands around like a statue and barely moves for 90 minutes, our play style and formation won't allow for it. Yes we need someone who can pop up at the right time and be clinical in front of goal but that man has to also have the attributes to fit in our possession style and link up with the team, not just stand around and score. This is why we're having so much trouble finding anyone because there aren't many who could slot into this team and do a proper job. It's funny that fryatt seems the perfect man!

That I can't argue with at all BSMan, I think that's a good observation and agree with you about Fryatt.

I still think Boyd can do a job though, especially with the options that we have.

Interestingly, Marcus Berg is available for about 2 million and after digging around, he is on 23k a week, surely that's worth a punt (I brought this up about a week ago, but wasn't sure on figures).

We're not likely to sign a 35 year old, who's probably actually 40, though I wouldn't mind if we did.

It was hard to get him up for games that weren't against the top six clubs in the country, god knows what he'd be like against clubs at the bottom of the second tier.

Norwich seem to be in for a few new strikers so Morrison could be a likely option.

Simeone Jackson would be a better signing IMO
