Seems like the better players are leaving and we get stuck with the crap. The implications of the Hughes management will sadly have lasting circumstances for our club.
Of course not sb. You know I didn't mean that (or at least you should ). But you are of course right that it could send that kind of message. I'm under no illusions, Harry is in charge and is a very hands on manager and won't accept any meddling in squad affairs. The way it should be. "I love Mackie's heart and attitude, but he's a limited player and H likes 'quality'." That is spot on sb, and maybe the only thing that give this rumour any credibility. Was just hoping Mackie's plus sides could be vital in our mix to stay up. He should definitely start less games, come more on as a sub where his impact can be greater. Feel we'll be better of with him as a squad player. But respect that the budget will take priority in Harry's effort to put together a strongest possible 25 man squad to give us a fighting chance.
one thing for sure, if Jamie is allowed to leave there will be clubs wanting to take him off our hands by the morning
Wonder if we've had any offers for Barton, Bosingwa, Park, Green, Diakite, Hulse, Bothroyd, Ephraim et al. Unlike Mackie, probably not a lot of interest... Just unloading a few of those would save a bit of money towards players coming in though.
Find it hard to believe when Harry advocates hard work every single week. Having said that, we need hard work and quality to stay up. Mackie doesn't possess the latter so I'm guessing the aim is to sign quality and make them work their socks off. I wouldn't sell him but he would bring in funds at short notice for sure.
It's a just a little bedtime story I still stand that we won't stop signing If we survive then next season we will break the record each year The bits are in place In 5 years we will have forgotten LR and laughed that we used to have Jamie Mackie We need to keep him at the moment I agree attack attack attack No fear
Not a single quote in the article, looks like bollocks. Arry wants more players with the attitude of Mackie, Derry and Hill, not less. Mackie works hard and is effective and at worse is a sub in this league.
Actually looking forward to seeing Samba Diakite back in the fold after ACON, preferably with a straight head.
Interesting responses on this thread which is precisely why Mackie should stay. To the fans, he is the heart of the QPR spirit and to sell him would be to damage our very core. That is worth more than £3m. The architect of QPR's last season survival with his goal against Liverpool, Mackie is invaluable for the passion and effort he puts into every minute of every game even though the most ardent Mackie fan would (probably) agree that his technical ability is about 7/10. Perhaps 8 on a very good day.
I'd say his effort is 10/10, but his technical ability nearer 5/10. Having said that, I like him and would like him to be in the 25.
so we have all these other wasters leeching off the club yet one of the few players who gives a **** is the one that's been told he can go? no wonder our clubs in the ****!
I would give his technical ability about 4/10 but that is a weak part of his game, 9/10 for effort though
The only player who runs his heart out for the club whenever he plays. Unbelievable and Harry will be making a mistake if he goes ahead with this.
Great response Norway, and sorry for baiting you on this. Just keen that we recognize that Harold is central to everything, and should be seen as such - he has responsibility for in comings, outgoings and results, including Saturday's, but he seems exempt from criticism on here. Don't get me wrong, I have warmed to him a lot over the last few weeks, even his transparent distancing of himself from bad news I'm finding funny. And I think he will keep us up and help us finally kick on next season. As for Mackie, rate him same as Col, hope he stays as a squad player. But he was agitated not getting in the starting XI last season, he may have higher expectations for himself. Who was it who gave him a new, improved contract? Oh yes, Mark Hughes.....
