Our accounts showed we spent less than the reported £2.6m on Prossy in the entire of last summer including agents' and other fees. Can we put this £2.6m stuff to bed now? The other two are just as likely to have been exaggerated.
They refuse to listen. I think they get enjoyment out of quoting that obviously misleading number that the team put out.
I'm not wanting to come down on one side or the other - but can we try and put this to bed now. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-transfer-news-hulls-interest-1559723 Fraizer Campbell (Even if he/we were interested) has reportedly signed a £30k a week deal with Cardiff. I don't readily believe the Mirror - but this story does mesh nicely with the events we are seeing. It seems DJ Campbell wants a deal until 2017 - he won't be coming here on low wages - and whatever he gets, he wants us to pay it until 2017. If you have ever criticised the Jimmy Bullard deal, then you have to respect the position of the Bruce and/or the Allams in being careful with this one, FFP comes in next year, and we could find ourselves royally screwed if we can't break from some of these deals. DJ Campbell will cost us over three and a half million pounds on wages alone if you were to assume he'd come on £20k. Given what the Leicester fans have been saying, I can't believe we'd get him for that. If there's one things our dealings with the Campbell twins have shown us - it's not the signing fee that's the issue - it's the combination of wages and how long they're wanting. Fraizer is going to cost Cardiff £5.5m on wages if they can't offload him at some point. I have a feeling our striking eggs are now very much in a Gedo shaped basket.
I still think there's a chance that We WILL sign Elmo and a striker ... I'm sure Steve Bruce will be trying . As mr Tickler says , time will tell .
Without access to your accounts it's hard to say, but I find it quite unlikely that many other clubs would want to pretend they've spent more than they actually have. It's only happened here because of the almost unique situation after Barmby was sacked, as discussed on this thread already. I don't really get why you're so keen to try and prove your club hasn't spent money. It's a good thing that you've spent it and it's the biggest reason you are where you are.
Yeah because of what happened with Barmby, I wouldn't be surprised if the value of Proschwitz we've been touted is the total fee once he's bagged us 100 goals and got us into to Europe... Similar to how the Quinn deal works. I'd imagine 2.6 is the maximum we'll pay for him if he achieves x & y. Back on topic, the Allam's have invested enough in my eyes (we're 3rd!). However after what they said about last January I can't see us not bringing a loan in at least. They've mentioned a PL quality striker in Jan on numerous occasions. If they're isn't anyone available which matches our need we'll probably look elsewhere. I don't necessarily think we need to spend any more but I think we probably should.
The Ghosts of Financial past are haunting Leicester fans' dreams and so they're going to try and offload their greif onto us. They'll never accept it, AKCJ will just go back onto his board, mutter what we've said in an exaggerated fashion, and there'll be a new thread about us pretty soon after. They're sad, let them believe what they want to believe. The Allams have invested way more than they intended to in most areas, and for them to keep on funding signings shows they're intentions. Those who phone in on Humberside and question their commitment in regards to financial backing, are just morons.
Right, seeing as you asked for it. 1) Our accounts are as accessible as any other clubs. 2) Why would anyone pretend they've spent more? Why would any respected chairman want to be seen spending more money than they should/have? Exactly my point. 3) My club has spent money, it's just when people try and say we've spent a hell of a lot more than others is what gets me annoyed. 4) No, spending wisely has put us in the position we are in. Spending like a rich kid in a sweet shop under Sven got us mid table.
You know everything, yet understand nothing. We get it that you don't believe what we believe, that's fine, but we don't give a **** what you think and we certainly don't have to try and prove it to you. Now go find something interesting to post about, you're being an irritating ****er again.
2) Because the Allams and Barmby had a fall out over the funds that were apparently there to spend (or lack of) and so the Allams needed to make a statement and show they were willing to spend millions in an attempt to make Barmby look as though he was in the wrong. For someone who's so obsessed with Hull City, you clearly haven't payed much attention to what's happened here over the last Season and half.
This is the thing though. I don't believe that you've barely spent a thing and that's me supposedly being an irritating ****er. Yet people spout **** about Leicester being the league's "big spenders" and that we "spend so much money" and thats "the only reason we are where we are". See the hypocrisy yet?
Nobody's said we've barely spent anything, Brady cost £2m, Meyler cost £1.5m and Proschwitz still cost over a million, even without all the add-on's. I'm just not sure why you feel the need to desperately try and prove we paid more for Proschwitz than we all believe we did. Seriously, none of us care.
No, you being deliberately obtuse is why you are being an irritating ****er. I don't recall seeing any post from anyone suggesting that we haven't spent any money. We obviously have. What has been denied is that we have paid the sum of £2.6m upfront for Prossie. That is borne out by our filed accounts.
The only relevant point there is number 2 and you've missed the biggest point which is that I've already told you our accounts prove the fees were exaggerated. Your point just confirms my statement that most clubs wouldn't do it. Point 1, I'm sure your accounts are available, but I don't give a **** about them which was what I meant rather than I am totally unable to see them.
There's a big question mark over the whole accounts proving we payed leas business. Ever heard of paying in instalments?
The fans who have a go at the Allams are either clueless muppets or wums. FACT. Dont worry. Barnsley did us a favour in the long run.
