What kind of manager would send out the reserves in the FA Cup, lose, and say it's proof he needs to sign a few more first team players? Oh, that's right, the tabloids' favourite to replace Capello...

Why oh why do I keep placing money on this poor excuse for a football team?

If you're quiet, you might be able to sneak into the bookies and get it back - they may be too busy laughing at the amount of money they made off that world class choke artist Andy Murray this morning...

What's your point here? Redknapp is perfectly justified sending out his second team (on paper a decent team) and expect them to push for first team for selection by beating MK Franchise. FA cup is not his priority surely. A decent one in answer to your question.

And losing to the best tennis player around is not a choke. We should be proud we have someone who can push him so hard!

Not when he uses it as an excuse to sign more players - something he's been banging on about since the second he arrived, which has done wonders for the morale of the team judging by some of the hapless performances they've put in.

As for pushing Djokovic close, no he didn't. Murray's has always had poor stamina, so after taking the first two sets to tie breaks he was knackered - and Djokovic picked him off with ease.

Having poor reserves is exactly the right reason to sign new players. At least he gave them an opportunity to play into his plans.

Edit: And running out of steam might have something to do with the disgrace of having 24 hours between semi finals. 5 sets against Federer 24 hours after 3 sets against Ferrer, one has a big advantage. Those first 2 sets were epic.

On Murray, he was on top till he lost out on the opening break in set2 after being 0-40 up, intsead of just getting it back and let Djok keep missing, he went for winners and nobbed it up, the game turned there for me. What about his foot blister, kin ell it was like an open crater! it was well noted by Novak, he was going side to side a lot more making him run after that, plus found another gear, there again Djokovic is the world number one and won the last two Aussie Opens, so it was still a great effort from Andy.

I see no value to this thread discussing Harry at QPR, we're not due to play them and they are certainly not rivals.

Hapless performances ?? You never miss an opportunity do you ?? In case it had passed you by, this was a team our 'tactical genius' of a new manager, had no clue how to break down a couple of weeks ago. You have a very short and selective memory when it suits your agenda.

Murray is so unfortunate to play in an era where there are three other outstanding players. Djokovic is the Utd of tennis- never, ever beaten. He goes behind, looks to be below his best, but then he steps it up when it matters.

Murray has everything Djokovic has imo, what he can't seem to do is maintain the level for 3 sets, plus he has an uncanny knack of being on the arse end of key moments!...a bit like Spurs!

Murray can't step up another level and is too defensive...but you could argue he has the ability but not the mental game so whats the point in having the ability if you're not capable of using it?

If you look at the stats, Djokovic had more unforced errors but thats because he takes more risks so Murray has to learn if he wants to win more titles, take more risks.

That's our first defeat in eight but sadly we are winless in three now. I looked shocked at the team selection and didn't know what to make of it. Just like Harry who sometimes left us wondering so too does AVB. Anyway I think we've hit a small blip and will recover quickly. The FA Cup was never on for us anyway after the Coventry fiasco so we move on. We all know what we need don't we? Strikers and then we'll be ok.

Not sure how beating Coventry 3-0 can be seen as a 'fiasco', when the real fiasco was this afternoons performance. I hope we do move on, fortunately we have an early opportunity to do so with this midweek game. Norwich will be on their knees at the moment, let's hope we can capitalise.

I have explained it before Original why I thought it odd that we didn't score in the second half and bury them by six or seven. It seemed to me to be a weakness that didn't bode well for the future of Spurs in the FA Cup this season. I have noticed that teams which win convincingly in the early rounds go on to do well and well we just failed to capitalize on being 3-0 up at half time. We seemed to come to a jarring halt in that match which if you remember I posted that it concerned me.

We struggled to qualify in the EL too and have had two draws in our last two in the PL so I'm a little concerned about these two comps as well. Strikers will sort the problem out.

I did think your worries after the Coventry game were unnecessary, but I do share your concerns over our EL performances, where despite fielding a strong side in every game, we have struggled and looked unmotivated and disinterested. After today, the EL now has a bigger impact on our season.

Well I think today proved that my worries after the Coventry game were warranted. I feel better about the PL and top 4 but with the Europa? I just hope our strikers find their form.

Having looked at the results of the last rounds I see nothing you could base this on?? and I've noticed Wigan, who reside 2nd bottom, have won 1-0 away at lower league opposition in the last 2 rounds. City won 3-0 aswell, shame on them, and everyone better watch out for Reading now as they scored 4 yesterday!

Nobody based my concerns after the Coventry match on anything either notso and look what happened. I'm talking about over the years not just this season notso. Chelsea should win the replay easily and they thrashed Saints and even though they're inconsistent I'd back them to do well in the FA Cup again this season.
