Cheers guys....I don't put many up. Some amazing shouts today. Unlucky with Murray today Bob but you made a profit. I'm a big Novak fan but what a nice guy Murray is...kinda of tired of everyone giving him a hard time. Who could dislike anyone who owns two border terriers..
Mullins comments are very interesting re Pont Alexandre. 'He looks to be one of the best novice hurdlers we've had apart from Hurricane Fly'
Whichever one leads him to the Champion Bumpers graveyard at the following year's festival. One of the worst stats ever to overcome if he is going to win anything at the festival.
What Oddy said. He's got no chance. There's some interesting juveniles this year. He's not one of them. Last years bumper looked very average before the race. Just because he won in a powerful fashion doesn't make him a top class horse.
I think I need to clarify where I'm coming from with this. I'm not so interested in CF as a betting proposition but I have backed Pont Alexandre previously for the Albert Bartlett and am trying to establish if I've definitely done my money. According to the exchanges PA goes for the Neptune and Ballycasey goes for the 3 miler, but I'm not convinced by Ballycasey at all (yet)! So I'm clinging to a hope that CF wins his next race impressively and Mullins has a re think. For what it's worth I think PA will win whichever race he turns up in but then again I thought the same last year re Bostonbob! With regard to the bumper last year, was it an average renewal? The New One and Jezki both look above average, I also think Pique Sous will take a hand in the Supreme plus a few other decent looking horses that we haven't seen yet like Sir Johnson were all behind CF that day.
I think Jezki will get beaten and the New One isn't as good as people are saying. Piqué Sous is a no hoper at Cheltenham for me. I could be totally wrong. All about opinions.
Also - it was the Champion Bumper so of course there will be good horses in it but I didn't rate the field before the race and I'm not convinced they are better than the novice hurdlers who didn't go down that route.
Well done Dex. Ouija - I'm on Pont for both but if Willie can be believed he's the Neptune horse. In which case it's Pont versus The New One versus Puffin Billy. Very exciting race.
Bob tbh didn't have a go but glad we won.....at H/T i would probobly have played the draw. One of those games you don't need a bet in!
I think the key there is 'if Willie can be believed'! On this occasion I'm hoping not and it wouldn't be the first time. I do agree though if PA goes the Neptune route it would be an exciting race, and one that he would win, just not as easily as he'd win the 3 miler! Not much longer to wait now either.
Watching the racing I Sky+'ed earlier when having my roast beef stack. Back with a view later as if anyone is interested!
Yeah Henderson and co at it again with dubious goings on with binocular . dont know what to make of that .. Re katenko he could be in first 4 in gold cuo. the giant bolster was placed in same race last year and look what he did in last years gold cup!!!!
If it comes up good at the Festival then I am happy still to be in THE NEW ONE's camp. He got outstayed by a very good horse on Saturday who will also take a lot of beating at the Festival. Was it last year that a winner and runner up on Trials day both went on to win at the Festival? May have been the year before, Bobs Worth and Rock On Ruby finished one two in the Neptune trial and both went on to win at the Festival, it could very easily happen again!
