How come most fans that you speak to know that Harry succeeds by overspending, but the media love him because he's a rent-a-quote. That's where Cortese went wrong...should have delivered the bad news through a car window. QPR have decent players that he should be able to knock into shape...his motivational and leadership skills appear to be lacking.
I would rather not comment too much on other Clubs, things have a habit of coming back and biting you.
That's why I don't knock Pompey too much...you never know what's round the corner. After all, even ManU was relegated once.
Well they were one the biggest clubs in the world in 1974 when they went down with us, so never say never!
I'd much prefer that United remain dominant, at least until we're ready to take their place at the top. I despise City and Chelsea, so we need United to keep the trophies away from the tycoons who are ruining the game.
Well our tycoon died. Also this: "Clubs spend money they do not have; they spend next year’s income. They spend money that will not arrive for two years and say, "But we'll have some success and bring in more cash to cover the shortfall". It cannot be sustained. In good times you need to be saving money for the bad times. If we reach the Premier League, I would like to be in a position where we did not need parachute payments. In good years you should put money away for the bad years." - Nicola Cortese. That's doing things the right way.
I think Markus put what could be called seed money into Saints so that the team could grow. Other rich men throw money into a club by buying a disparate group of expensive players who may gel or may not. Look at the money Abramovich has thrown into Chelsea...they have won trophies at massive cost but still seem to not know who they are.
Julio Cesar is linked with a move to Real Madrid as cover for the injured Casillas, QPR are keen to remove high wage players, so that leaves QPR in the capable hands of Green
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...706?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Odemwingie is a little weird.....
Why would anyone want to sign a player that does drunken rants on twitter against the team he is contracted to...can just see Nicola saying, 'We must sign this guy.' He was even advised by his agent to cool it. An improved offer has been turned down. Gaston also sounded off to newspapers when his move here was being blocked...but then he's cute
WBA are going to play hard ball now Odemwingie has twitter ranted. If he had done things the right way he may have got his move. Can't see it now. And why the **** does he want to join QPR anyway? (Apart from the massive wage increase!)
He said he wanted to play for one of the most respected managers in the game! That's what drink does to you!
