As we move from January into February, it seems that the coming week will be crucial for the club on a number of different levels. Firstly there the transfer situation. Will we be signing any of the loanees onto permanent contracts? Although it would be confidence building for us the fans to know that the players are 'ours', as long as the season long loans continue then we will be able to continue to watch good exciting football. Secondly we believe that the FL are likely to come to a decision on Bazgate by the end of the month. A fine will make a dent in the balance sheet, but a points deduction would change the postion that we now find ourselves in. Thirdly we were told that work on the SW corner would be announced in January. So far there has been no news on this. Lastly we have a game that we should win on Tuesday and a home game Saturday that might be harder unless we find our away form at the Vic. Six points would see us in a much stronger position whatever the FL decide. So will this week define our season, or will it just be another week in 2012/2013?
Could well do OFH - but I think a couple of those items will not actually be "resolved" this week. I think Bazgate will rumble on a bit and the SW corner will need some more time. But on the pitch, it's going to be one heck of a week and that is likely to carry on until almost the end of the season if some of our rivals do not drop points. All in all. A very exciting time for Watford that is for sure...
So much going on! it's quite exciting times on and off the field, would like to see the transfer situation sorted even though some may only be till the summer. Some positive news on the SW corner and a suspended sentence for the irregulatories and of course 6 points in the bag just to strengthen our favourable position
I am pleased BC won yesterday as it may prevent any hint of complacency from us. Although their confidence will have been boosted I think we are now just too good for them if we are playing properly
Well Cardiff, Leicester, Hull and Palace will definitely all drop points - they each have to play us. As to the main question, all I'm worried about is Bazgate & I really don't understand why it is dragging on the way it is. The FA are too much like the Civil Service - a law unto themselves and the wheels grind too slowly, except when they get a bee in their bonnet. The longer it drags on the more I'm convinced that an unreasonable ton of bricks is heading our way. I feel quite confident that, by this time next week, we will have reaped another six points and will be comfortably ensconced in the top two - (well, fingers crossed anyway). As to the 'contracts' problem- as the Pozzos might well say, que sera, sera. If it happens, it happens & if not - there's nowt we can do about it, so no point agonising.
i think if we get 3 points on Tuesday...if we're docked 10 we're still in the playoffs, unless i've got that completely wrong. Still, the whole Bazgate thing scares me...somehow i feel like this will go against us, unfairly. Meanwhile...if we can get 6 points by Saturday night...i'll be a very happy bunny...and if some of the 'loanees' sign and if Deeney completes negotiations on his contract favourably i'll be thrilled to bits!
