The FA are worried about the state of the Wembley pitch. They have decided to put ã200million worth of sh ite on it on Saturday.
So, they have to play the FA Cup early because of the UEFA stipulation about not using the pitch for 14 days before a Champions League final. Why does this mean the Premier League have to play some of their matches on the Saturday? Apart from showing that they consider themselves the be all and end all. Next year the Final will be at 5.15PM. Great news for all the cities, like ours, which don't have trains running to get you back home in this third world railway system of ours even at relatively early times.
I think it's fairly safe to say that after such a long time without a trophy both teams will definately give a **** on Saturday.I can see how a Man Utd suppoter can get blase about the FA Cup but even with all the money they have spent Man City will be desperate to win. I can see Stoke turning them over though, to be honest I'm not harris'd who wins.I don't think I'll even watch the game.
I'd quite like a Man City win, just so the smug bastards at old Trafford will be forced to take that banner down that counts all the years city haven't won a trophy. Not a massive Stoke fan either.
they've said they probably will only amend the banner and role it on a few more years so its years since man city last won the league.
This competition has lost its shine for me, or maybe there is just too much football on TV. I enjoy Spanish cup finals, El Clasico or otherwise, as there seems fire in the their play, but its been a long time since the FA Cup has inspired me as much.
i think stoke will win, and are worth a punt at 3/1... man city are average away from there own ground especially without a fully match fit tevez.. tho my old man wont be happy if i support stoke, apparently they ripped us off in the 60;s or 70;s?? and he still hates them for it...cant say im too fond of them either after having rocks pelted at me a few years ago..
3/1 pretty good odds with the draw as a saver I reckon, like I say can see one of the Man City loonies getting sent off, especially Balotelli.
Thank you, Tiger. I had started to believe that common courtesies and good manners were practically non-existent on this site, so I'm well impressed (and grateful, obviously) that you took the time to welcome a newcomer to the Hull boards. Good for you, I say. Nice one.
I put this on the other Cup Final thread but I think it fits here too. I think it's outrageous to change the time. Apparently more people will watch an early evening televised match than an afternooon one. How much more money will be made? I also think that it is completely wrong to have other matches on at the same time. The Cup Final is the only 'must see' televised match in my calendar. It's when everyone across the country either becomes a neutral or cheers for one of the teams involved because there's always one we like to win. What if we were playing on the same day? It's obvious what I would do but how many would stay at home? It's forcing us to choose between competitions. Still, after all that, I think I want Stoke to win today because I'd like to think that money doesn't always bring success. There you go, I'm already taking sides.
Read this^^^ on the other thread, but thanks for posting it on here also, Tigger. Hope we are right on Stoke winning!!! By the way, at this moment, nearly 2/3rds are saying they think Stoke will win!!! We shall see later!
I think the Man City fans will be well up for this due to the mocking song sung by their local rivals. Whether the team will be is another matter. What will the ManU fans sing if ManC do win? We all hate Leeds scum ad infinitum?
