Was the title of a thread over on the Liverpool board. The first 4 or so pages was mainly filled with abuse of Charlie Morgan "He didn't kick him hard enough, if it were me I would have had blood on my boots" etc. Some comments on how we should be punished and they hope Bradford win etc. When I respond with the opposing point of view scum pour forth and insult me personally. My responses are still centred around football and the issues but now include some dismissive statements, in kind. ...and yesterday morning I get a pm threatening to ban me. A "final warning". I respond that it can't be a final warning as I never received a warning and point out the hypocrisy. Haven't been back since but this morning, you guessed it, I'm banned. "political correctness"! Oh the irony! Please bear this in mind when the likes of Toela come on here, they're so sensitive they can't even handle an opposing point of view. Perhaps this thread should have been titled "How not to mod a forum"
Terror - the Liverpool board is one of the worst there is for this. They can slag you off and get very personal with their attacks on anyone who doesn't agree with them. They all stick the boot in calling posters all sorts of names, yet it's you that ends up with a million experience points deducted for asking if Luis Suarez is a cheat. I saw on one of the forums, someone had a signature that said : "Liverpool FC - Embarrassed by nothing, Offended by everything" Really does seem a true statement when you look at their forum.
Right I've read it and left them a lovely little message telling them to stay away from here. I think you did nothing wrong there Terrorwit. FAO Mods, the ban is unjust and any Liverpool fan venturing on here will get the same treatment from me that Terror has had over there
I'm not suggesting that Dilli, though thanks for the sentiments. I don't want us to behave like that, just put it up here so when they come on here everyone is aware of how they operate
Terror, all you did was comment on there and they abuse you. What I meant was that if any Liverpool fan comes on here giving it the large they will get it back from me. Unless they unban you of course !
Ha ha a couple of months ago I made a comment about Joe Allen and how I think their criticisms of him was a bit OTT. And all I got was " look at this swansea has only been in the prem for one season and he thinks he can tell us a thing on football" and "how can you come on here we hav won bla bla bla bla....." and crap like that. There was one fan who agreed what I said but the abuse I got from the others was comical. They are a deluded bunch of dole bums who are living so much from their past success that they are blinded and fail to see that they are a million miles from being a PL champion, or even a top 4 club!
It's true though, they are a club living in the past and that amongst other things is the reason why they will never win the league again. They are so far behind the top 4 that they will not catch up probably in the next decade or two. Liverpool are just another mid table team who's only hope of silverware is the FA Cup or League Cup, if they get into Europe by winning either they won't get passed the group stages. Basically they are nothing special and are a shadow of what they were previously, any team in the league are thinking they are fair game to get points off, they are even the second best team in Liverpool right now. Swansea has matched them after 2 seasons in the league, and they haven't beat us once as yet.
In light of the thread I put forward, that we from this moment onwards, refer to Charlie and his ilk as ballpersons so as not to offend. I just replied to that knob Toela on the 'If we win it' thread before I read this. I feel like I went a bit too easy on him now
I personally don't understand how they wear the achievements of their club as a badge of honour as a fan. I mean, because we are now a premier league club, do I think think that I know more about football than a Luton fan, a Crawley fan or a Newport fan etc etc etc? No I don't. I can't. It's no basis to be judged on. The problem is that the football media is so dominated by Liverpool fans/players that they perpetuate this myth that some how it's in the genes or the water and that if you are scouse then you inherently know more about football (I am not saying that none of them do, but being a Liverpool fan does not make this automatically true and too many use it as a shield - what do you know? The eleven players my Dad used to sit down and watch won the league!) What will happen is that, over time, Lawrenson, Hansen etc etc will drift out of 'punditry' and they will get replaced by this generation's retiring players and, being that the media only thinks that top players can talk about the game, they will be Man U and Chelsea players. Maybe the myth will grow up about their teams then, but then that'll be that. It's strange because I have had an affinity with the club in the past - but the more I am told to admire something will no tangible reason for this admiration, the more I pull in the other direction. I react badly to a sense of entitlement.
I can't see our mods agreeing to that, but if you've truly never been on our board then I'll ask for it to be overturned. As for Terrorwit: I was the one who requested your ban, and gave you the warning (which is, btw, customary for anyone who is causing trouble). If you'd pm'ed me and asked why you'd been banned then I would have told you. However since you want to air it here, then so I shall. You were banned because of continuous abuse to posters, derailing of topics and general WUMming. I will take this post as an example. In your first post, 4 pages in to a discussion that actually had very little to do with Hazard and the ball boy you managed to insult the whole of the Liverpool board and start an argument about Suarez. Was there really any need for that? This is just a recurring pattern with you, hence many posters got annoyed and complained to me. I did my duty as a mod and gave you a warning, discussed you with the other mods and we decided that you should be banned. As for: I have warned our "abusive posters" a few times, and quite a few have been banned already from the forum. You get what you give with regards to the insults. I also don't smoke. Hope that's cleared up some things.
Terrorwot's language is a bit intemperate but a ban seems extreme. We get a lot worse over here - sometimes from our own supporters. The inclusion of Suarez was in the context of your supporters going on about cheating. So it's relevant it seems to me. Tad sensitive? I just logged into your board under an old username and you've got obscene photos all over that thread. You going to ban those people too?
Then they must have just been removed. Curious. This isn't something I would make up. If you look carefully there are references to it by other posters. Let's put it this way it involves insertions of objects. You get my drift. One of your own asked for the pics to be removed. One poster appeard to be bragging that he was the one who put the pic on one of Terror's posts (which I can confirm). Who has the ability to do that? People tend not to mind rules being applied but they have to be applied fairly. Seems to me you're prepared to tolerate quite a bit provided it comes from a Scouser.
