We dont need another striker but its not 100% out of the question. Nugent and Wood are class. Waggy has a role to play but Futacs isnt happy with his lack of chances and Vardy looks out of his depth. I think he would be a very good signing for you lot and if you could get someone like DJ Campbell playing off him. It could prove deadly in this league. But if they did get you up I doubt they would be able to score the goals in the prem
We wont get him. We may not even get DJ so a DJ Ebanks partnership is really thinking to far ahead. You wont get him. You wont sit Nugent or Wood not the way they are playing together and you wont buy Ebanks-Blake and then put him on the bench.
I'd take Ebanks-Blake, he's a decent striker in this league. I do think we need 2 strikers to challenge for the top 2.
From the "between the lines" interpretation of Bruces post match, it looks like campbell getting more unlikely. Seems the fact we are not in London is a bigger consideration that it ought to be. Hope the manager has a plan B.
He never has a plan B. He's a nice bloke, he's made some decent signings, he's had us playing some good football, but not once yet has he had a plan B.
The way we're looking at the moment, I would be quite happy if we signed Plan B to play up front. He can act and he can sing, playing football should be a dodle.
Lets sign Plan W. Windass. He said a month or so ago that he would have scored a hat trick with all the chances our strikers had. He is probably just as fit as CS.
In todays Mirror: Hull City’s bid for QPR striker DJ Campbell is stalling - because the hit man wants a long-term contract with the Tigers. Steve Bruce’s club are pushing out the boat on wages for Campbell but now he wants a three-and-a-half year deal before he makes the switch.Campbell started in*QPR’s disastrous FA Cup exit on Saturday*but can leave. However Hull are unwilling to make such a huge financial commitment. Also in Hull Daily Mail, sounds like Elmohamady could be an emergency loan, which means other teams could go in for him, doesnt it?
Seems odd, they're supposed to be letting him come back after they've made additions this week, if they don't make those additions, presumably they'd still need him.
Unlike Nick obviously, who massively changed his approach when we went on the lengthy non-winning run (was it 1 win in 11 from memory?) Good. 3 and a half years is too long.
Has anyone else thought that Campbell was a Colin signingwhen he had **** all of a budget and a wage cap rumoured to be 15k p/w? Dj won't be on the much at the arse.
I criticised Bruce on another thread for sticking square pegs in round holes these last few games just for the sake of playing 3 at the back, I mean andy Dawson at center back ffs you couldn't make it up! We have enough good players at our disposal to play them in their natural positions in a different formation they'd be comfortable with and still field a strong side. Rosey isn't a wing back and we totally lack width on the right side with him playing there, koren isn't a striker and we miss his tempo, link up and long range threat with him further up, we also lose all pace and movement up front with him and prozzer playing up there and these things were what made the 3-5-2 system tick over, now they're missing and it's not working, time for a change until we get the players in that make it work again.
I think the only position we could really play is the old Barmby formation till we get Elmo back. Stockdale Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dawson Meyler Evans Brady Koren Quinn Simpson
