Regarding people making threads when they are "leaving" a forum and usually to resurface a few weeks later I do find it very lame and unnecessary. I've left many different subject forums over the years..you just don't browse them any more I don't go making threads saying I'm leaving and hope for multiple posts begging me to stay. Man up.

    Not true.

Why the hell do indeed attention from a forum? It's just to explain why I will suddenly disappear and to point out that although this is a forum there are some pricks, not that I'm really being affected by. It's kind of like having a conversation in the pub

So you have anything against that, go **** yourself!

I was playing devils advocate a little bit, as I thought it was slightly disrespectful towards DHCanary being made mod. But no need to take anything on this forum personal. I am just quite opinionated which I think we all have to be on this. I do apologies if you take offence. Anyway, I wouldn't even bother thinking about this forum, get yourself better Wonky.

Fair enough YellowLittle. As I say, I had no problem with DHCanary being mod, it was just a surprise and how about considering others.

Final point on the DHC to mod business, he was already a mod on F1, I am away a fair bit at the hospital, Maestro when he visits his family has very limited internet access, it just made sense to get DHC to cover the City board rather than leave it struggling! No hidden agenda, just good old fashioned common sense!

Can't believe, with my level headedness and conflict solving abilities, was not considered for the role!

If people have a genuine issue with me being mod, I'll step down, it doesn't bother me. I simply saw it how Dave puts it. We're not a bad bunch on here, so the board doesn't take a lot of looking after, it was just a case of providing cover when needed. We probably don't really need 3 mods, but as I was already modding the F1 board, it made sense to just extend that to provide extra cover here, and try to minimise any future hassle.

But if people would rather democratically elect someone else in my place, I'm not going to complain. Mods are answerable to their forum, and if people don't want me that's fine.

On the topic of people leaving: Good riddance! <laugh> Nah, it's always a shame to see people leave, the variety of people on a forum are what makes them fun, and a difference of opinion encourages debate, which is what this place is for! Sure, not everyone will argue as eloquently as others, but that's the same as in real life. To those going, good luck with the future, especially where your health is concerned. OTBC.

I just felt others good be considered and possibly a vote, unfair on those who may want to be a mod. Just to reiterate, I have nothing against Dave, Maestro or DHCanary.

All three are fantastic, fair posters.

I know what you're saying but the decision was taken by me and Maestro, so if there are any objections, that means all three of us have to go!

    Any thoughts?

lol please don't think that I was having a go at you, your doing a great job and like Dave says it makes sense. I was merely pointing out how useless I would be as a moderator. It would be horrendous, maybe funny, but horrendous in terms of promoting free speech.

Honestly, I'd written my piece before even seeing this post, so it didn't influence it in the slightest! We had a hilarious moderator on the F1 board not long after it started, something kicked off across various threads so he deleted about a weeks worth of content to calm things down. That's why we were one of the first boards to have multiple mods, to keep each other in check! Also the F1 board tends to be more unruly, as you've got people who support different teams all using the same board, it's like Norwich and QPR sharing a board sometimes!

Irdan, exactly, it's hardly CV material!

Ha! My first act as moderator would be to ban all QPR fans without any justification. Just for laughs.

and that, is why I can never be a moderator lol
