You've just merged two posters into one? Is that legal? Will this create some kind of monster that we cannot control?

I wish Pardew would make some kind of statement about it. It's being reported/quoted everywhere, leaving a trail of disgruntled fans in its wake.
That's NOT what we need right now -- we need good morale and strong support for the team and the captain. This stupid letter is quite damaging.

One question, seeing as it was for San Lorenzo then presumably this 'letter ' (if indeed there was one) was written in Spanish?

The reason I ask is that sometimes 'literal' translations can have quite different meanings based on different uses of language, phrases and grammar.

Either way, as per my previous post, I'm not too bothered by this letter at all. If he plays, I have no doubt he will give us 100%, as ever.

All such ****. His father is a well documented twat. Cheer the captain for what he has given to the club. And pay attention to twatter at your peril.

I'm with you Nedders! Although I sense we are in the minority on here.

Ah Twatter, and San Lorenzo's at that! Looks like someone has made promises to fans they couldn't keep.

Exactly! Nowt to worry about. Let's all move on and support Colo as we've always done.

Hang on, this could change things if true (taken from SkySports Transfer Clockwatch):

San Lorenzo's promising playmaker Alan Ruiz is wanted by Greek club PAOK but he'll cost €10million (£8.5m). San Lorenzo president Matias Lammens told Radio La Red: "There has been an approach from a very important team from Greece. The supporters know that we can't refuse a proposal like this."

If they get that kind of money then they might be able to afford Colo. Alternatively, how about a swap deal?

"An open letter, allegedly signed by Fabricio Coloccini, has incensed the Toon Army.

The letter has been released by Argentinian club San Lorenzo, who hope to sign the unhappy Newcastle centre-back.

Last week, Newcastle bosses claimed their 31-year-old skipper was happy to stay on Tyneside.

But the letter – apparently signed by Coloccini and his agent – appeared on the official Facebook site of his Argentine suitors, claiming last week’s peace deal was only a *“momentary suspension” of his desire to move.

Newcastle officials are *investigating the origins of the letter, which surfaced just hours after Magpies manager Alan Pardew had claimed a compromise had been agreed to keep his *captain at the club for the rest of the season and *possibly beyond." ........

"The uncertainty will add to the calls from some *Tyenside fans to replace Coloccini as captain. There is a feeling that, with 11 French internationals at the club, Yohan Cabaye may be a wiser choice." etc etc etc etc

I honestly wouldn't give it a second thought. It's an attempt to save face with the San Lorenzo fans and presidents, probably with little input from Colo.

It at least shows a resignation that he's with us until the summer. It's now up to Pardew to pick him if he believes his head and attitude is good enough to lead us out.

Didn't seem to affect his performance at Norwich when all this broke did it?

There's a rumored San Lorenzo deal in the offing anyway (see above) so he could still make the move if they cough up the dough before the window shuts...
