All the time our squad is getting back to fitness, so hopefully we'll be in even better shape when we start playing again. Everyone's in the same boat...or the same snow drift!
I'm based in West Yorkshire during the week, travel home on Friday afternoons so thanks for the warning Sapphire, I'll leave a bit earlier
there is getting fit and there is being match fit. there will be a lot of rusty players vs rotherham and even more rusty if that game gets postponed and we have to wait until barnet! i know everyone is in the same boat but just when things were looking good on the pitch and we needed to play while confidence was up, a potential 3 week wait until barnet is on the cards and that barnet game is massive as it is.
I reckon this game will be on. Looking at the weather for Rotherham, there's no rain/snow today or tomorrow and it's dry on Saturday morning and early afternoon. There may be some snow flurries from about 3pm, but that's about it. We're actually above Rotherham in the form table, so let's hope we can make it count. They absolutely battered Barnet and lost, so this is definitely a tough one which could go either way.
Hope your right Gastro and the game is on. Unfortunately BBC weather forecast for Friday (BBC weather Rotherham) predicts heavy snow coming down from the North later on Friday!! Just thought Iwould add this for general info Rovers, meanwhile, will train at Sheffield Wednesday on route to Rotherham tomorrow and are hopeful that the weather will allow a return to action for the first time in a fortnight following last weekend's postponement of their clash with Exeter City. Rotherham officials are to clear snow off their pitch at the New York Stadium today, but are bracing themselves for further snow fall forecast for Friday night. "I would have preferred to play quickly after winning the game at Fleetwood a couple of weeks ago, but we couldn't and the weather is out of my control," said Ward. "Will we lose the opportunity to build some momentum because we haven't played for two weeks? I can't answer that question until after we play on Saturday.
You will be fine lads, just phone Evans tell him it is ice cream and the town of Rotherham will be cleared of snow before you can blink!
just looked on the metcheck weather site.....they predict upto 40cm from 4pm onwards until 3am............not looking good
Congrats to Rotherham for getting the game on and their fans for turning up in numbers to clear nearly 4 inches of snow from the pitch. Here is some pics.... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
I have to say that's a class act to get the ground cleared. Well done Rotherham fans!! Let's hope their hospitality rewards us with the three points! That must have been for the missing 'h' in Rotherham
