They are in serious trouble of relegation. He is simply protecting his investment by trying to stay up and is a gambler at heart along with Llambias, so has chucked £15m at the issue. These Frenchy types may be just the ticket, or they may be incapable of stopping the free fall. We shall all soon know.
Huge gamble this. The french are not known for their fighting spirit football wise or in any other area. But you cannot deny the flair and ability the French do have. As Cest says..we will soon find out. I think this game at Villa is even bigger now. If Villa win, their next fixtures are not that great Chelsea at home and Spurs away. Could be intersting by the end of February
True but I would argue of the signings we made Mbiwa and Sissoko definitely have plenty of fight in them. Cabaye has more than enough () and he's a frog.
Flanders - chuck in 2 more big 6 pointers against Southampton and Wigan, a tricky trips to Swansea; a very daunting trip into the Ukrainian backwater of Kharkiv (record low at this time of year is -35) in between and its a massive, massive next 9 games. At the end of this sequence of games, they will know if the French gamble has paid off or not, as if they are still 4th/5th bottom then squeaky bumholes will be heard playing DoonToon all over NE1.
we will see ORT..if...after these next few games the heads haven't gone down....as is the French way...then maybe the gamble will pay off. If at the end of February the Mags have managed to claim a few points..then fair enough. I just have my doubts. as for Cabaye...if, leaving your foot in time after time deliberatley is your definition of fight..then yes he has spades of it.
Thank you for your holier than tho opinion. I'm sure such a pillar of society would never dream of looking at someone from any country...look at the their attributes and make a comment. Anyone with half a brain (i know...maybe not aimed at you this one...I mean, a half a brain would be an imrovement) would look at the GENERAL French mentality over the years in football and maybe....just maybe come to the conclusion that rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in when the chips are down...is really not for them. Unless your vast knowledge can prove me wrong of course. Its just a general comment ffs....
Mind I do get sick and tired of some Sunderland supporters creating articles about another club on the Sunderland board.....is that because Sunderland are doing okay and there is nothing to criticise or question? It's not as if this has not been discussed in some shape or form on another Sunderland oriented thread.
I don't really indulge in such stuff because I'm not from the NE and am not as acutely involved in the whole rivalry thing. Anyway that wouldn't constitute xenophobia.
"not as acutely involved in the whole rivalry thing." - you reckon? I do not believe many Sunderland fans dislike or fear of people from other countries or of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange, in fact i have not encountered any. Don't let you opinions be formed by internet tittle tattle Jackie, go out and meet real people from Sunderland - and then form an opinion worth having and discussing.
I think Sissoko is a quality signing but is he what's needed? where does he fit with Cabaye tiote anita? They need to replace Ba's goals really to turn there season around properly. I do think the new signing will boost the dressing room morale and it'll positively impact performances on the pitch
