I hope we play the same team tomorrow that SB plans to play at Millwall next week. Resting players isn't always a good thing especially when it means there's a fortnight between games for the first team. I think City play better when there's a continuity of games without too big a gap between and sometimes they play like strangers after a long break. If the best players win against Barnsley they will go into the next league game with more confidence and the argument of possible injuries is no more relevant in this game than any Championship match or any training session for that matter.
I just don't see any reason why he can't play all the available first team.. Ths risk of injury is minimal and the players won't be tired for next week. If we play a 2nd team I just can't see us winning.
Jakupovic Rosenior Mcshane Chester Dawson Stewart Evans Cairney Quinn Proschwitz Simpson That team should be good enough to beat Barnsley.
We keep playing down the FAcup but surely it means even less to Barnsley. So play a good team and stuff them. Maybe a defeat won't dent confidence but a 5-0 hammering is going to be a great confidence boost.
I'd like to see a mix, rest a few legs but a close resemblance to our 1st eleven, get through today and home to Millwall next, Who knows!
Rest a few legs? Is there really any need for that ? No midweek game before and none after. If we draw we'll end up playing more matches. So, we play a 2nd team, we lose; a 1st team, we win; a mixed team, we might draw. Really should be picking a full first team.
Should be a pretty strong team, we've not been playing especially well recently so some players could do with a good game. I'd go: Jakupovic (because there's no one else) Rosie Chester McShane Bruce Dawson Meyler Cairney Quinn Simpson Proschwitz Cracknell Hobbs Brady Stewart Evans Cullen Koren (if fit, if not, Olly)
I had a very vivid dream about The Proz dinking one over the goalie after breaking from the half way line and going one on one. Either it's an omen or a sage warning not to eat a cheese sarnie just before bed. 2-0 the Tigers.
I hope you're right, but I think we'll do very well to win today. 15 mins before I need to set off. Girl at ticket office said to expect a similar crowd to Orient.
I absolutely agree with you. You can get injured training or in any match. Look at Bradford. What's the point in competing if you don't want to win a cup. Even winning the Championship is unlikely now we're 10 pts behind Cardiff.
I'm hoping we lose this one. Our grip on the top two is slender as it is,and i'm one of those who think a cup run is a distraction to promotion hopes. Win this and we're in the 5th round, then there's the quarters, semis ect. Add to this replays, injurys, and an already hectic league schedule. Sorry but the priority is obvious.
Starting Line-Up: Jakupovic, Bruce, Chester, McShane, Rosenior, Brady, Meyler, Olofinjana, Quinn, Koren, Proschwitz Subs: Cracknell, Dawson, Faye, Hobbs, Cairney, Stewart, Simpson
