I did a bit of digging into Portuguese wages, the figures seem to be about an average of €14,500 a week, but if you take out their big 3, it drops to about €6,500 a week. If he's one of their best players he's probably on significantly more than both those figures, so selling ourselves as a stepping stone could be key.
Yeah true, I think we will be building slowly. I hope not too slowly - hughton will have the backing of the board on this one
There is a couple of murmers on Twitter that weve enquired about a loan for RVW, presumably with a view to a permanent move. Still, we have no hope in landing him. If it is true and we are actually looking at him, I dont get why? We need to face it, as a club we are not rich enough or popular enough to sign a player of his ilk. We are right at the bottom of the pile for top players wanting a move to the prem in other words.
The board seem damned either way. Signing players of a similar quality to our current squad is deemed lacking ambition, go for RvW etc and then they're wasting time! We clearly have many irons in the fire, probably several we've heard nothing about, but I still maintain that there'll be an outfield player or two through the door before the 1st.
I'm not complaining about the ambition atall and its great that we are supposedly linked with players like RVW but being a realist he's just way out of our zone just like Hooper was. Graham was a signing that could have happened and still could depending on other club's.
According to the BBC Football Gossip column (talks****) - it looks as though Hooper could be on the move to Spurs and Odemwingie has handed in a transsfer request so he can move to QPR. He'd be perfect for them - over 30 and looking to build up his reitrement fund!!!! I hope we don't get to next Thu not having signed anyone of note - ie Graham, Volfswinkel etc!!!!
At least there has been no denial yet of interest in Wolfswinkl. I also think that it's a long shot but at least something to hope for.
Mackie or CMS -it will be one of those fellas or someone we haven't even considered. We're wasting time chasing Hooper, Graham, van Wolfwinkle, etc.
No news is good news. Until the players that have been linked to us move on to other clubs or commit to their existing clubs, whose to say what's happening. I wouldn't rule any of those out just yet.
Just been on twitter and McNally is getting pelters from the usual idiot canary caller brigade. I bet as kids they cried when mum wouldn't get them a lollipop. Pathetic.
I feel very sorry for McNally on twitter. There's only 3 PL chiefs on twitter, so we've got incredible access to him, and all he seems to get is abuse!
One twat is telling him how much we spent/wasted on signing Bunn and Morison Who knows - and who knows just the trash he's read in the red-top tabloids. Arsehole!
Think that's more of a joke. But the ones giving him abuse are idiots, he's one reason behind our success and should be thankful. He is handling the trolls very well though.
Great tactic! Retweet the idiots so the sensible fans can pull them apart. These idiots need to shut up though so McNally can use twitter for what he intended to use it for.
We wouldn't dare would we ? http://www.footballfriendsonline.co...ds-to-take-advantage-of-becchio-dispute.html?
