The Betfair will tell us if he has any chance in the Champion Boris. Not for one minute suggesting anything need fear Pearl Swan as of yet but if he wins the Betfair (he'd need to do so impressively) then I think he could be considered a live contender.
Well if it was a bad ride from Jason Maguire he'd better get his ****ing finger out because I'm on City Press here
It's out of the favourite and City Press i think Oddy. NOt sure which will win though. City Press is fit but i think TheMilanHorse has the class and will win.
City Press Thought they were going to nab him, Maguire did well to keep him at it. ****ing freezing here Dex, -15°C tonight I am not ****ing going out
I'm perhaps stupidly venturing into one of these Jumper Bumpers but Oscar Prairie 25/1 looks worth a dabble in the Kempton finale. Won one of these over C+D last year under Fehily when allowed an easy time of things from the front and he went off too quickly in front last week in a similar event at Lingfield. Greatrex does really well in these events (just had the last winner). Definitely not a race to go nuts on though!
Right lads if anyone could help me out here it would be greatly appreciated. How does qualification for the Pertemps Final at the Festival work. I know if you place in any of the various qualifiers you're entitled to run but is there any other way if you can get in? Trying to work out if Son Of Flicka is qualified or not. Perhaps since he won the Coral last year he is qualified? I'm just trying to see if there is any reason not to stick more on him for the Coral Cup.
In order to participate in the race, all runners have to have competed in one of the qualifying races that are run throughout the year in Britain and Ireland. http://www.cheltenhamfestival.net/s...Race-Card--Day-Three/Pertemps-Final-Handicap/
Isn't that part of Sir Barney's standard "More plots than an Agatha Christie novel" quote? Something about half the field only running to qualify for the final
Yeah...always dodgy having a bet in these races when you can't sure who actually wants to win. I think thats why a lot of people lumped on The Package at Warwick in their Pertemps Qualifier because he wasn't going for the final and was assumed to be "trying" and well h'capped. He blew out unfortunately.
He's in alright but as Oddy says he will probobly line up for a repeat bid at the Coral Cup where his current mark will definitely ensure a run.
One of my favourite-named horses in the next at Lingfield - Iwillsayzisonlyonce by Kyllachy out of Resistance Heroine Got a chance too with Nora Looby claiming 7 and therefore a little e/w at the 14/1 which my bookies are offering
That has to be the most ridiculous qualification process I have ever heard. You can finish tailed off and still qualify! Someone I know said they had heard a whisper they are going for the Pertemps but he said its nothing solid at all. I don't see why he'd go for the Pertemps as he is unproven over 3m (especially up the hill) and why would you switch from a race you know you can win! 137 (his current mark) got you in as one of 3 bottom weights last year. Looks unnecessarily risky to me!
