And on Burn's Night, to boot! I sit here waiting for my lift to Muswell Hill to play for a Burn's Supper. It's a primary school fund raiser, we've done it the last two years, always lots of fun and done properly. Not your usual primary school, this. 'Address to a Haggis' is usually done by Crispin Bonham-Carter, Helena's cousin. Just wish he'd learn it, for crying out loud! He's an actor, I don't expect to see him read it from his smart phone! The dancing is always whiskey fuelled and manic.
The haggis is in the fridge, the swede peeled, the Ardbeg unboxed and 'The Address to the Haggis' printed off. We're even expecting a bit of Scottish weather...
I'm watching the weather radar and hoping it doesn't get down here. Non-working legs feel the cold so badly.
And what is my conclusion at the end of Burns Night? Ardbeggars can't be choosers.....Mrs H has just asked whether we have really got so far down the bottle in one evening. I have reassured her that once opened it does evaporate rapidly
Morning all from a much milder bandit country - well over zero and some rain in the air. Just waiting for Mrs W_Y to stir (she was out last night) to take me to the station to get a train to Bedford to then pick up the Beer Train to Nottingham for a old school away game...COYH I've left a few Rubles behind the bar to fund the afternoon crew's refreshments COYH
Daily Heil showing their true colours. Still I don't expect David Bleat will now be their fav ex manager... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...n-map-Norwich-FA-Cup-tie-turbulent-years.html
Morning all, the predicted snow arrived overnight, but doesn't look like hanging around with the lane already showing signs of tarmac. Forest game on, so that is my afternoon planned. While drinking my coffee I came across this news item on France 24. "An Egyptian court on Saturday sentenced 21 people to death over violent clashes between rival football fans at a stadium in Port Said last February in which 74 people were killed." It seems that there are another 50 yet to be tried, quite a few being stewards.
Most bizarre situation at the Ladies final in Australia - a 10 minute delay due to an Australia Day fireworks display! Then the first point after the break, Li Na falls on our head after going over on her ankle. Luckily, she's continuing.
A volatile race those Egyptians - in the protests over the sentencing, eight more died outside the prison in Port Said and seven more in protests across the country. The 21 who received the death sentence all supported the same club, al-Masry. They must be the Luton of Egypt.
That death toll from the riot outside the prison now stands at 22 apparently. I wonder if the are all supporters of the other team.
Evening all - what a day. We are playing the best football I have ever seen, just sheer heaven - Forest fans just did not have a word to say. Just how ****ing good is to be a Watford supporter at the moment! - I have told Mrs W_Y that EVERY game is now on, no way I am going to miss this. COYH
Morning all, wet but mild in this part of France. Went for the bread and the town was almost deserted. Think that everyone has given up on doing much outside. Tried posting a few minutes ago and found that yesterday's gremlins on this site are still with us.
Bloody great isnt it Only following on streams and HP but I`m still lovin it. Not even hitting top gear we are playing some stunning stuff and scoring some mouthwatering goals . Oh yeah when all the loanees came in , who did I choose for shirt sponsorship ? Why Abdi of course
