...is the fcking British Press. NUFC do nothing in the transfer window to replace players, it's all doom and gloom. NUFC bring in a bunch of French players, three of whom come with quite soaring reputations, and what happens? We get the media hunting round the likes of Auclair, Houllier and Malbranque to find little tidbits about how this is going to cause further problems for the Toon. Yup, signing players is apparently also a bad sign. Unless you're ManU (Zaha has around 3 headlines on SkySports...Moussa Sissoko isn't mentioned), the other 4 or Harry Redknapp.

Arsene Wenger's French invasion a few years back, that continues today, wasn't greeted with anything like the depressing doom-mongering we seem to attract. It's that old cliche of the press only being happy when NUFC are getting a shoeing. You could almost hear the disappointment that MYM didn't sign for "the Arsenal" or ManU. You can feel how glum they are that Sissoko didn't "do a Remy". You can sense the press egging Thauvin on to join Arsenal and not the Toon. I don't understand the vitriol - what did we do to deserve it? Makes me laugh that they laud the support as being among the best in the land, yet will sell their papers and print their articles based on slagging us off or doing the team down.

I don't get it - we should be bringing headlines of admiration for being so lowly yet conducting our business so well, and in the face of quite some vitriol as well. There should be articles about what MYM will bring, how Debuchy can make things happen, and so on, but instead I find myself having to scour French twitter accounts for snaps of positivity! Talksport (ptooie) are among the worst - their France correspondent was claiming we weren't bringing in better than what we have (MYM aside). Erm, isn't Haidara backup? Isn't Debuchy an improvement on Simmo? Isn't Gouffran an improvement on an empty space? And I dare say we'll see a little more from Sissoko than we do from Perch or Bigi (bless 'em).

We'll teach them a lesson when we only do pre / post match interviews in French!

Also what grinds my gears is when I can't find the droids I'm looking for.

I wonder if Alain Pardeux will start speaking in faux-French a la Barton and (kind of) Stevie McLaren?!

Also, missing the clutch grinds my gears.

The adulation will come from the press once your players have earned it, and that's only right. You can't deny that because last season the press were all over you for finishing the season so well. The speculation surrounding your investment policy will always be there until it has been proved a good investment, and so it should. If these players turn out to be so great, nobody will be pointing fingers at how many French players you've adopted this month.

Harry Redknapp is loved by SSN and the likes because he has no ability to keep confidential information to himself, his face is in such a bad state that information just leaks out of it.

I'm hoping that Krul will pick up The French accent to add on top of his Dutch Geordie accent!

It would be nice if they did a news story on British players compared to foreign players, transfer fees, goals etc, with the conclusion that British players are completely over priced in the transfer market.

3 things that grind my gears today:

    Snow
    Nile Ranger
People talking loudly on phones on a pre 8am train

List of things that grinds my gears

    Snow
    Nile Ranger
People who listen in to my loud phone conversations on a pre-8am train
    Federer playing like a wally
The lack of speculation about another unheard of Frenchman joining the Toon

Hardly worth grinding gears over the Press.. I have become so used and inurred to cheap, shoddy, smug, lazy, incompetent, self-congratualtory 'journalism', Very very few Journo's have the slightest clue beyond the M25, Including Honoury London Teams, Man U, Liverpool and ....Saudi Kingdom of Man C (for last few years ..tho they are applying for London Citizenship as we speak)

Listenign to Commentators during Games/Streams.. The bias is so clear it almost laughable, Newcastle get mentioned in passing, and it tends to alwa ys be about what the other team needs to do to beat us, who is playing well for them etc etc...(T Francis Iam really looking at you)
and we are there to only make up the numbersand be beaten (this occurred last year too , until maybes March-ish when all of a sudden it wasnt 'luck' anymore and the fawning began)

Now onto things that REALLY grind my gears today

Nile ' Power ..or is it Prick?' Ranger... Just get shot there must be a clause in his contract re...behaviour /club into disrepute. Enough is enough now (coul d well be innocent re the rape but ...enough is enough) He just isnt worth the 1-2 mill MA wants for him.

Recieving snotty text messages due to factors beyond my control ..ie SNOW ...look around you woman!

Crappy Coffee, (this is at home too, I seem to have lost the ability to make decent coffee today)

The fecking dogs next door ...Howling and whining non stop

I don't see why us signing young French lads cheap has surprised anyone, it was a couple of years ago Slim Mike/Del Boy said we would be following the Arsenal model. It worked for them, don't see why it shouldn't work for us.

He would represent good bismuth and would be a good target man, able to zinc up play well with Cisse and HBA.

(I'm starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel here olo)
