Are my views on this transfer situation valid or am I dreaming? Zaha to Man Utd for 15 million and then immediately loaned back to Palace for the rest of the season. I presume that Man Utd have already stumped up the money, so am I wrong in thinking in reality that Palace have recieved a loan of 15 million for the balance of the season, monies they can use to seriously bolster their promotion chances. If this is the case then surely the proposed FFP regulations imposed on teams has been seriously undermined by this transfer business. Now we all know that the teams with the best accountants (use that job description as you may) will always be able to find detours around the rules. If anybody can see a different picture that I have missed along the way please tell me I'm wrong. I can't really explain why but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth particularly when my club are struggling to make ends meet and can only dabble in the transfer market with limited funds. Another issue I have is with Alex ferguson getting away with murder when it comes to discipinary problems and appears to be treated like an untouchable by the footballing authorities.
Perhaps we could sell Albert to Palace for £7 million and have him back on loan for the next year and half? This is a loophole in the Football regulations that needs to be PLUGGED IMMEDIATELY. Talk about bending the rules, they've just been snapped in half!
Thanks cidered I didn't think I was being too critical and it almost seems to me that as long as you are in the know at the right level you can achieve anything, even if it is underhanded and unethical. Will there be an investigation by the F.A.? When I see it I will believe it, but I won't hold my breath expectiing either of these teams to be brought to task over the affair. Rules for the rich and harder rules for the poor, just like government really!
We stick to the rules and suffer the consequences of having real financial restrictions. It hardly seems fair to me.
pretty sure palace still have creditors from there last recievorship, who only received a small percentage of the monies owed. wonder if they will see anything of the reported 12 mill,
In answer to the last question, I very much doubt it... As far as the rest is concerned as tiger says, there have been deals like this for many years, long before FFP was ever thought of. Palace have a great chance of going up and this is a fabulous deal for them, I don't see the problem with it to be honest, if we did something similar with Albert would any of us complain...?!
Arsenal done the same deal years ago with Leicester when signing Alan Smith. These sort of deals are done on a regular basis! Just some are higher profile than the others. I agree with Prem if we could get the same deal for Albert we would be loving it, get the money and retain the player to help us survive.
looking back on my thread my real concern is that these never come the way of Bristol City, but nonetheless I am ticked at Man Utd who always come up smelling like a rose.
Didn't it also happen with the Rooney deal as well? Shame really if Zaha went there we should of tried and loaned Nani
