So we go from a discussion about politics and the EU to a discussion of idiotic members of the public craving attention? I suspect there might be a relationship. He's obviously talking about America here but a lot of this George Carlin quote applies to the UK as well:

Um, well he has a point to some extent but I think the problem occurs when you get career politicians: people who do a degree in politics or something political related at uni, work as an intern for a bit for whatever party they support, become a councillor, then MP and so on. Thus MPs end up with little real world non-political experience and they are seeing politics as a career choice for their own ego and/or financial benefit rather than to serve the country. They should make it so you need at least, I dunno, 5, 6, maybe more years real world non-political experience before you can become a candidate for parliament. And perhaps even more for (shadow) cabinet ministers.

A pint for every exam I have left. I have Systems Reliability Assessment tomorrow, Engineering Maths on Monday then Mechanics of Solids on Tuesday

Have fun. My one today was miraculously the same as the one from two years ago which I actually revised. In my first year I got 10% in maths <laugh> 3rd year ftw...

My first two exams in this exam period were a catastrophic failure. My revision methods are terrible, which explains why I'm still on here despite having an exam tomorrow. Having said that, Systems Reliability should be okay. I just discovered fully worked solutions to all the tutorials :D

Oh guys you remind me of my young naval days........When I finished my final exam the whole group of us went out on the razzle. (I could use another word but the swear filter isn't fixed) I swear that headache I had is still with me a bit today.......<laugh> I could not look at food or beer or practically anything for weeks...........

This made me lol

I remember our last exam, went straight to the bar with one of my friends. Started drinking the vodka and lemonade, then me and one of my friends went to another pub and had something to eat, then went back home continued drinking and later on we went on YouTube while drunk and started singing, really loudly and probably not very well, Abba songs. The neighbours banged on the wall and texted my friend to tell us to shut up, which was ironic as throughout the year they'd been quite loud.

Good times.

By all means be loud, but don't sing Abba!

Abba!? Oh god no!

I didn't go to uni, however all of my friends did so I had a lot of end of uni parties... kind of worked out alright! Except for my liver..
