might be just me, but i see that as a good thing to be honest. gives us a couple of seasons to get back in top 4, as if we get CL football i see us being more of a pull than Juventus, and may get him here, at a cost obviously, just hope the weather, taxes etc don't put him off lol
Latest doing the rounds.... Liverpool have increased their offer for Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho to 9m euros (£7.6m). [LiverpoolEcho] Also, Southampton apparently have made a bigger offer but the player wants to go to LFC. Who knows with this.
No we don't. We have plenty in that age category already: Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Enrique, Lucas, Downing and Suarez off the top of my head! (no bald jokes please) Plus Gerrard, Carragher and, to a lesser extent, Jones are around too. We have a few youngsters that are on the verge of that bracket too. We just need players that will improve the first team now rather than in a year or two, we don't lack experience
i'd also agree... but then say why the hell don't these "expereinced" players contribute more then... Ok so we know the back 5 should be doing better... we know all baout reina's gaffs.. so why when then you put lucas and gerrard in front of them and then suddenyl you go.... oh hang on here.. there's actually only two kids i nthe first team and thats henderson at 22 and sturridge at 23... hmmmm...... ok so our reserves/ subs or whatever are borini, suso, sterling and shelvey, kelly, wisdom and such and are all very young... is this the issue? I dunno but i reckon we're lacking more will to win adn give all on "any given sunday" sort of thing rather than experience. i'd be very interesting to see if we had thrown in sneidjer and say oh i dunno a mata or hazard type winger where we'd be.... my guess is 5th... we have to get the tactics, organisation and professionalism right... I thikn give it another 3 months with a dynamic scoring duo up top and we'll look a different prospect... its amazing how a ew defensive errors can be bureid under goals and wins.
That's all well and good MITO but you're basing it all on a first eleven and as we all know, its a squad game nowadays. Those eight or nine older players don't (or shouldn't be) play every game, certainly not Downing anyway I agree about the 'tactics, organisation and professionalism' though
Ain't got time for footballing input, I'm searching ebay for a decent Ford Cortina! But thanks anyway
20 years ago I had one, 2.8i... Went like pooh off a shovel! Also went just as quick to the garage for weekly repair.. Loved that car!
Liverpool Football Club discussing personal terms with Philippe Coutinho this afternoon via club source. LFC are willing to pay £6 million up front for Coutinho with a further £2 million based on appearances - Tony Barrett, The Times. SFC offered more Coutinho no interest in joining SFC According to Italian newspapers Coutinho bid has been accepted and will undergo a medical at Melwood tomorrow
If that is the case, then, in the light of what ManU have agreed with Palace, this looks a good bit of business
Hope it's true, for that money it's very low risk. He could be brilliant, but if not we haven't broken the bank. Prefer this strategy to previous regimes.
Apart from Man Utd are doing the ideal thing when signing a young potential player in loaning him straight back to the club they've bought him from so he can continue developing. We'll chuck him in the deep end head first
for me the the ince deal might be dead if this is actually true. whih is ok by me if blackpool are playing silly buggers with the kid... ironic seeing he did the same to us. i think zaha for utd is fine, i mean they need to try to replace giggs finally but have nani, valencia and young so...... loaning him back is ideal.
This But.. I think they are loaning him back in order to seal the deal? If that wasn't an option, Palace may have said, sod that, we'll keep him for now to help push for promotion, they know, regardless of where they finish at the end of the season, they'll still get a decent fee for him in the Summer... For Palace its Win-Win either way!
