  1. Goalkeepers are part of the actual game too though. Just thought I'd throw that in there... <ok>

Yeah exactly. Same as when players run the corner flag and hold the ball up.

3rd parties (i.e. ball boys) who interfere off the pitch is simply cheating in my book.

The little knob of a ballboy caused the whole thing. Swansea clearly told the ballboys to waste time and the little **** that got kicked even boasted about wasting time on his twitter before the game. Hazard was wrong to kick him but the ballboy was to blame for the whole thing, lying on the ball like a little fat twat.

I think they should. The 3 match ban for violent conduct is guaranteed. There should also be an additional punishment for bringing the game into disrepute.

On a more general point, the number of people on these forums who think it is acceptable to respond with violence because of a few seconds of inconvenience is shocking.

    Behave.

What he did was stupid not deliberately violent.

He was trying to kick the ball out from underneath the lad & caught him in the side doing so. It wasn't as if he's wellied him in the chops for not giving the ball back quick enough.

The lad has apologised to Chelsea & the player has apologised to the lad & his father. He got sent off & will rightly serve a 3 match ban for his stupidity, but that's where it should end. The faux outrage over this is pathetic, I even heard one belter on TS comparing it to Cantona's kung fu kick <laugh>

I'm not so sure he was trying to kick the ball out but I also think that what he did was understandable. I suppose it could be seen as violence and as much as I dont want to support violence we are talking about a dig in the ribs and not an intentional act designed to cause serious injury.

I'm sure he didn't want to apologise either as he probably feels his act was justified.

I'm afraid astro that I'm in the group that feels that the ball boy got what he deserved.

'The faux outrage'?, Boots don't pretend that if it had been a certain Liverpool player that had done it the whole saga wouldn't be viewed completely different in the rags/on the web and tv and on internet forums and the automatic 3 match ban would have been the end of it.

The precise intent of Hazard's kick is unknown, but those posting things like they would have kicked him harder are not talking about the ball.

You should see what happens when a goalkeeper parries a ball against a Uruguayan player's hand <ok>

I agree there should be a proportionate punishment handed out to those concerned and there's no need for a big song and dance about it.
I disagree about the Suarez link, though. Our bringing it up is just a (tongue-in-cheek) pre-emptive strike at a press which as we have already seen will bend over backwards to try and find a way to drag his name into any discussion on bad behaviour.
They will either do this, or not, regardless of anything we say on here.

I am sure he would have another 8 game ban or so.

I think the ball boy was a twat for play acting. It was pathetic and his father should have a word. Hazard shouldnt have got involved, but all he did was try and kick the ball from under him. Everything is so over dralatised these days. Shocking i seeing your mates head get blown off in afghan. Not this non event.

Come on mate, what's St Luis got to do with this incident? Why is it of any relevance whatsoever to this debate? Merely another excuse to wheel out the 'our poor Luis is bullied by those Fergie puppets'? <laugh>

Just when you thought you had seen everything in the game.....<laugh>

Pat Nevin is one of the very few pundits/ex players I bother listening to as he's
usually spot on with his analysis.

This time however,I think there's a little Chelsea bias creeping in.

I agree with most,Hazard should take the ban and thats the end of it.

Ballboy was a twat aswell, can't do much about that.

Not really lad, but tbf you're towing the media line like a lemming pretending a certain Liverpool player doesn't receive harsher treatment than others for similar offences.
