Red card for kicking a ballboy? PC gone mad. Back in my day if a ballboy tried any shenanigans a footballer would take his belt off and give him a good beating.
I am in two minds about that Hazard thing. The ball boy was being a proper prick by holding onto the ball in that fashion. Hazard's only defence could be that he was trying to kick the ball from under him in order to get it back, because the ball boy was not planning to give it back any time soon.
All in all a great performance. We had real purpose to our game and always looked for the incisive pass rather than tapping it aimlessly around the midfield. Great runs were made by our attacking players and Sagna and Gibbs too. We've got to keep up the momentum and play like this from the first whistle. Also, Hazard: what a twat!! If that tweet from Chelsea FC is genuine, then that's an absolute disgrace. I don't care how much of a dick the kid was being, HE IS A KID!!! Full stop. An adult professional football player can't kick people for any reason, especially children. He'll get ****ed over for this.
He should have just left the ref to deal with it. You can't react to a situation like that. The ball boy was being a total twat, but Hazard has lost his cool and will get punished for it.
If it was a player holding onto the ball, then he'd be sent off for kicking him. I don't see why this is any better for Hazard. Quite the opposite, in fact. Has anyone seen what actually happened to Potts? Hope he recovers quickly and fully.
Arsenal 5-1 West HamArsenal manager Arsene Wenger on injured West Ham defender Dan Potts: "I have heard he is well now, so that is good news."
Podolski's best game to date, looked really up for it tonight. Hope he finds a bit more consistency now. Just when you think you've seen it all Chavski commit latest outrage!
Apologies for getting back on topic, but i thought we were OK tonight. Obviously, after the Potts injury, the intensity went out of the game, but who can blame us, it was a serious injury, and not a pleasant thing to witness. If you take away the 10 minute spell where we were phenomenal, we were OK. But we got the job done. We still need a DM IMO, Ramsey filled in well today, but there's always question marks about his consistency.
Rasmey was good, the thing he did that Arteta sometimes fails to do is that he played a lot more dangerous forward passes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LBUSPGLK0U only video i've found on the potts incident. he and sagna both went for the same ball, sagna had a long run up and pace and won it easily, but seemed to catch potts as well. definitely accidental, but looks painful.
