Ugh. They say no news is good news, but it isn't is it? So far we've been linked to a couple of Egyptian players, but we haven't even got to the talking stage yet (as far as we know) so any deal would be unlikely before the Barnsley game. Having said that, this might be the reason that there isn't much of a rush on, because there aren't any league games for two weeks. But then, surely the best game to test out new signings is in a Cup match? We've been linked to DJ Campbell, have put in a bid but are still only talking to QPR, according to SB. No news on Elmo returning, although Sunderland haven't been quite as active in the window as their Geordie neighbors. Since the Meyler, Stockdale and Brady deals, we haven't really heard much, but then they kinda came out the blue too so I suppose patience will see us through.
Step #1 in Tommytiger's guide to how to have an argument with yourself. Now I know how Andy Goram feels.

what do you expect people to say here? I'd say DJ Campbell will probably sign in couple of days - strikers cost more & the wage negotiations might drag out a bit.. We'll have to be patient with Elmohamady & maybe the El Ahly playes are a back-up option to the DJ & Elmo situations.
It's not just here, it's generally a quiet window for all teams, only really Newcastle keep buying players, even lower league teams aren't really taking loan players as much as they used to. Maybe because I don't have SSN on like I used to do, so not noticing it as much. Even the Sky transfer bit is slow, just rumours & re-hashed stories from the rest of the week. FA Cup is probably not helping either.
I think most championship clubs are waiting for the EPL clubs to get most of their targets in and then see who becomes available as a result.
True. The January window is more important for PL clubs than the rest. No rush at all for any FL clubs as the emergency loan window opens up soon afterwards.
