It's RUMORED that Wenger earns 135k per week which would make him the 2nd highest paid manager in the league (behind Mancini) and better paid (by some way) than any of our 1st team squad. http://arsenaltruth.squarespace.com/arsenal-truth/2012/11/4/arsenals-1434m-wage-bill-exposed.html http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4067...y-of-wengers-socialist-arsenal-wage-structure Some might say what does it matter what he's paid but with all the talk of Wenger being somewhat of a dictator where's the accountability for what can be deemed underachievement for the past 7-8 years? And how does his wage fit into the "socialist" model he wishes to achieve?? Our club is based on Wenger balancing the books and is has even been mentioned that Wenger potentially receives a bonus depending on his transfer dealings. It seems Wenger, Gazadis, Kronke are all happy with financial success first and foremost and although there might be some truth they use the Financial Fair play rules as a story to hide behind. Failure to make 4th will hit our books hard and that might make them finally snap to action but by then it'll be even more of challenge to rekindle success on the pitch
Ok. What is the bog deal if he's paid that much? Despite our shortcomings in the past few seasons, he's still earned that.
He should be paid more than the players he manages. My boss earns more than me. & the club should be financial security 1st and foremost. I'd much rather that approach than the likes of Leeds or Portsmouth etc,
He should - all managers should be the highest paid person on the football staff. We all seem to hold them accountable when we fail, they are always the one sacked so yeas they deserve the most.
I think top managers should be paid more than top players. First - there are much less good managers than there are good players. Second - manager's role and influence is much more important than that of any single player.
I agree that managers should earn more. If this is true, it's certainly not a scandal as is being reported.
Why are we surprised that the manager earns the most??? IMO all managers should earn more than their players, what message does it send to the players when they realise that the guy that picks the team every week is on less money than them?? well one that suggests that they are bigger than the manager. And this whole wenger being a dictator thing is bs, it's coming from people outside the club who don't have a clue whats going on.
seem that is the case , only excpetion are : AW & jose who get more than the the highest paid player in their club here is some interesting wages of top managers http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...son-pep-guardiola-the-worlds-top-10-best-paid
Managers getting paid more than their top players. Does that mean that Benitez should be paid about £200,000 a week (if Hazard gets £185,000)?
Possibly, yes. If Chelsea can afford to pay a 1st team player that, then the man who runs the 1st team surely deserves a bit more? However, with the regularity that Chelsea replace their managers, that would be a lot of pay-offs.
