This reminds me of a flat-share mate called Karl. There were loads of us in the house and one of us was a black guy. We all used to get along fine but one day Karl announced that his mum and dad were coming to see where he lived and could the black housemate stay locked in his room during the visit because Karl's old man was an utter BNP fascist and would not take kindly to his son living with "one of them". So on the day of the visit the bedroom door was locked and when Karl's dad was having a look around he noticed the door wouldn't open. Quick as a flash Karl said "That's John's room and he does a lot of chemistry experiments so keeps it locked for safety" The dad seemed to buy it and the day went without any other incident. After this we started calling him Karl-Hides Roomie-******.
