I don't think anyone from West Ham down are totally safe, I certainly don't think Southampton are as safe as a few on here appear to, they could go in free-fall under the new fella. I do think Newcastle will get out of it, but I thought that 4 years ago too?? Reading have done well the last couple of games but I just can't see that continuing and although I like Martinez as a manager, I think Wigan's luck might have run out this year. Make no mistake, we're in deep shi7 but we've definitely improved in recent weeks. Looking at the current form (last 8 games) we're 12th with Villa, Wigan and Newcastle in the bottom 3, there's a bit of hope for us yet!!!
Were 12 but have possibly had the hardest schedule of anyone in that time, all we have to do is win the games were supposed to but then that always bee our problem, we will lose the 6 pointers and beat the big teams.
Yes, just look at the West Ham game for illustration of that point. Still think we'll get something out of the Citeh game; in fact I'm deluded enough to believe that we can win it!
And yet it is what you are suggesting Newcastle are compared to us by saying only money would make a player choose us over you......
I'm suggesting joining a team of typical league one facilities and little top league history over a club with plenty of competitive European history including several Champions League campaigns not to mention a world class stadium to play in and world class players to play with is a little questionable when said club offers Remy 85k a week?? you really think Remy is that passionate about the Championship? I don't when your gone he'll be off.
Sorry, my fault. I thought you were a Newcastle fan. And that's not a description of them. I remember them being a team that regularly graced the lower leagues throughout history.
really? if they are world class then why are you in such a poor position in the league? as an example: your strike force is far from world class.
There again the idiot speaks. Where were all your loyal 52K fans when you were getting 8K?. Make me sick you lot. DL was right you 'plastic jocks' think your fans are something special when you are no different to ant othe club. All turned on Ashley last year, then when he sorted things out you kept quiet, then you start losing again and are starting to blame him again! Two faced muppets. We all heard you booing when Reading scored on saturday? Now that is getting behind a team! The reason Remy choose QPR over Newcastle is because London and how we made him feel more welcome but then it is grim near Scotland. Now go away and bore Queen of the South fans and we will all look forward to you fans crying when the camera goes on them for that 'Passionate Fans' crap. Attention seeking muppets
Ever heard the phrase "ignorance is bliss"? well ignore people who say this, they are not too clever.
Its easy to pick just one attendance from thousands but looking at averages gives you a truer figure and Newcastle have been pretty good with their averages throughout history which is a better judge. Newcastle's Average 2012 49.936 2011 47.718 2010 43.388 2009 48.750 2008 51.321 2007 50.686 2006 52.032 2005 51.844 2004 51.966 2003 51.923 2002 51.373 2001 51.309 2000 36.333 1999 36.690 1998 36.680 1997 36.466 1996 36.507 1995 34.690 1994 33.679 1993 29.018 1992 21.148 1991 16.834 1990 21.590 1989 22.921 1988 21.059 1987 24.792 1986 23.434 1985 26.228 1984 29.811 1983 24.166 1982 17.276 1981 16.001 1980 23.345 1979 20.494 1978 24.729 1977 33.599 1976 33.060 1975 34.614 1974 32.861 1973 27.939 1972 32.664 1971 29.735 1970 37.553 1969 34.016 1968 37.239 1967 32.081 1966 33.793 1965 35.659 1964 29.435 1963 31.634 1962 27.946 1961 26.500 1960 36.037 1959 39.458 1958 36.241 1957 35.202 1956 37.666 1955 42.925 1954 45.392 1953 44.521 1952 50.476 1951 46.651 1950 46.468 1949 53.839 1948 56.283 1947 49.379 1946 1939 32.693 1938 21.276 1937 24.430 1936 19.483 1935 20.081 1934 24.142 1933 25.992 1932 30.366 1931 26.151 1930 32.559 1929 31.667 1928 30.195 1927 36.510 1926 29.957 1925 24.325 1924 26.865 1923 27.085 1922 34.860 1921 41.265 1920 38.390 1915 14.545 1914 24.710 1913 24.935 1912 24.995 1911 25.055 1910 24.825 QPR's Average 2012 17,295 2011 15,635 2010 13,349 2009 14,090 2008 13,959 2007 12.936 2006 13.441 2005 16.056 2004 14.785 2003 13.206 2002 11.749 2001 12.013 2000 12.591 1999 11.793 1998 13.083 1997 12.554 1996 15.683 1995 14.613 1994 14.228 1993 15.015 1992 13.592 1991 13.524 1990 13.218 1989 12.281 1988 13.268 1987 11.754 1986 12.665 1985 14.000 1984 15.370 1983 12.807 1982 12.574 1981 10.936 1980 14.087 1979 16.287 1978 19.941 1977 21.062 1976 23.850 1975 20.394 1974 22.867 1973 14.715 1972 14.367 1971 13.069 1970 17.525 1969 21.579 1968 18.419 1967 13.157 1966 8.263 1965 5.670 1964 7.662 1963 10.041 1962 11.121 1961 9.956 1960 10.285 1959 9.155 1958 9.386 1957 9.239 1956 8.455 1955 11.283 1954 10.983 1953 12.205 1952 16.545 1951 16.866 1950 19.281 1949 21.628 1948 22.273 1947 16.519 1946 1939 10.669 1938 13.799 1937 10.293 1936 11.113 1935 7.344 1934 10.022 1933 7.707 1932 13.303 1931 8.785 1930 10.960 1929 13.487 1928 10.407 1927 9.076 1926 7.545 1925 9.900 1924 10.200 1923 10.315 1922 11.550 1921 14.430 5 season's under 20,000 average blows your theory out the window.
The world class training facilities will be here in the summer, the world class stadium with the 1st roof in England will be coming after that. Then what reasoning will you come up with when players choose QPR over others?
This is probably not a good time to say that I like Newcastle (the city), Geordies and have a bit of a soft spot for the Magpies too. But there, I've said it.
True, but how many teams do you compete for support with? Big fat zero!! How many teams in London?! If there was only one or even two they'd be getting 100k to 150k a week........
True but London is the biggest city in our country so there are more to go around also if you look at Chelsea's averages from 1981-1994 there were worse and they have had generally higher attendances then Newcastle throughout history and 1989 was the year they won the 2nd Division (Championship) and they were only getting 15K+ on average... 1994 19.416 1993 18.787 1992 18.686 1991 20.738 1990 21.531 1989 15.731 1988 20.118 1987 17.694 1986 21.985 1985 23.065 1984 21.120 1983 12.672 1982 13.132 1981 17.897
How does that blow my 'theory out the window'? 'Donut'! I said you once got 8k That is true and i asked where all your 52K loyal fans then? I said your fans were 2 faced with Mike Ashley and guess what.... they were. I said your fans are no better then any other and they are not. I said Remy wanted to be in London and felt more welcome at QPR, that's what he said And if you want to pull out the figures i would say ours have only varied by 5K no matter what division we have been in you cant say the same. Seems you only turn up when times are good. No go away you boring 'plastic jock'.
No I think it's Fulham downwards mate. West Ham only need 4 wins and have a decent run in. They'll be okay
Im no Jock mate and Im not a Newcastle fan, I like to produce facts when people have things wrong. If you look in the 40-50's which is why I produced these averages they use to get 40-50K so they have gone away and come back same as Chelsea. Also in 1965 and 1966 you got 5,670 and 8,276 average then you won the LC in 1967 and attendances averaged 13,157 that season so success brings people back the same when Keegan took over people came back. I can call you names if you want but I would rather discuss as I am led to believe this is a forum and calling names is rather childish is it not.
I don't have a problem with Newcastle i have a problem when our site gets bombarded by bitter muppets because a player chose QPR over Newcastle. Even that smug boring muppet Shearer was having a 'dig'. Fed up of hearing Newcastle fans go on about 52K gates because Chelsea only get 42K and look at the difference in players/Trophies. Not being funny but Newcastle fans are deluded if they think their club is in 'safe waters' because you have just lost at home to the worst playing team in the division, you are in a relegation fight and players want out or have left. Get off that high horse because you are just another team that make up the Prem numbers and not a 'top club'
There may be more people in London but being the best city in the world, there are many many more sources of entertainment that football has to compete with down here. Newcastle fc are competing with who for your money, the local odeon?!
