What I don't think you've considered is this: why would Saints say anything other than "thanks for his contribution", (which they did on the day he was sacked) when they have decided he wasn't right for them. It'd be a bit bizarre to put a big piece up praising his success and contribution when he's been sacked for not being up to whatever task Cortese is setting ... it would be a little contradictory.
Agree 100%. I'm beginning to think that the worst thing about this whole affair is that a new generation of GMI's has been created. For God's sake people, give Cortese a break! Everything he does is for the good of Southampton Football Club, why would he do anything which he thought would harm the club?
Exactly. Agree or disagree with the decision, he definitely wants what's best for the club. Why wouldn't he?!
Without Adkins, we wouldn't be in this position ... he deserved a lot more than a measly thanks hidden amongst a bigger article about Pinocchio.
You need to be stood corrected. Without Nicola Cortese convincing his very rich friend to buy our club, we wouldn't even be here, so sonny jim (yes, that is patronising), before you spill any more tears for the way this beast of a man has treated Nigel, you should remember that fact above all. No Cortese: no Liebherr; no Southampton. Cortese has a few free passes in my eyes. Yes he is a bit odd, but bugger me mate, you are 17 and therefore 14 when we nearly went for good; maybe you didn't understand just how important that was. I was sat down wondering what on earth I was going to do if Saints had gone for good. I could not have supported another team, but thankfully Nicola Cortese convinced his mate to buy our club. Never forget.
Southampton Football Club.............is nothing without its fans...........never, ever forget that fatletiss.
Read my post above Archers ...... SFC would have been gone if it wasn't for Nicola Cortese .... never, ever forget that!
Course I understood how important that was ... I'm not some stupid kid when it comes to those dark days - I was as passionate then as I am now. As for spilling tears? Yeah right. It ain't that ****ing bad - It's not affected me that much that I can't go on my day to day life without it being in my mind. I'm not some stupid, punk immature kid that needs to be spoken down to.
so don't go quoting, "without Nigel Adkins ... blah blah blah " at me then. It strikes me you are not dealing that well with your anger towards Cortese.
We were on the brink admittedly, whether we'd be gone......you and I don't know. This football club has moved on and is still doing so despite NA's sacking........but I repeat myself....WE are the Club....WE are bigger than Cortese or any past or future custodians.
I don't want to be picky, but you are clocking up a lot of dislikes on this Forum, maybe you should think before you hit the post button, unless you are deliberately trying to upset people, in which case I ask you why? Don't want to stop you from having an an opinion, but so many people of good repute don't like what you are saying, so it is possible that you are wrong or being misunderstood.
