Another angle here is that off the radar G.C.C.C have started the development of their ground.
When/If City get their new ground or develop AG there will already be two brand new venues
in Bristol for concerts, weddings, conferences etc.
Those revenue streams will be difficult for City to break into....they may have been the first to
seek a new ground but they are rapidly being left behind.
    Tough financial times ahead methinks.

I said on another thread on our site, that you lot will get the concert venues and what goes with it. Pretty obvious that is when you are 1 mile from motorway links. So no need to tell me something I already said the other day arse breath.

I was saying that now you have the ground we ought to put our resources into redeveloping AG.

And here is the comment I made about it

The problem we have now is, if they wanted to use Ashton Vale as a concert venue that could be now gone as organiser's will probably go for the UWE to have a less impact on traffic congestion getting to UWE than Ashton Vale with it only being 1 mile from the motorway links.

We can still go for the corporate meeting venue with hotels ect but that will depend on restrictions on UWE once again due to locality. It might be worth looking at plan B and going for a redeveloped Ashton Gate or take the chance on AV being what they originaly wanted it to achieve.

This is the time perhaps for a major rethink.

Might sound good to you ROD but it's dead in the water unless Ashton Vale is kicked into the long grass permanently.

Lansdown didn't buy the land at AV and put all that money into planning apps and design work just to redevelop AG. Sure, it's a great deal for BCFC but building a stadium at AV represents a very big business opportunity for Lansdown. A stadium there unlocks a huge amount of development land for housing/retail/hotel etc. and he would be in a prime position to benefit from that. It's as much a business opportunity for him as it is a stadium opportunity for you.

Redveloping AG would not represent a business opportunity for him in any shape or form. In fact it would be very costly - it's a very distant Plan B for him, I would imagine.

If AV gets PP, then I would imagine that it would do reasonably well regarding gigs and conferences, even though UWE definitely has better links and will be built significantly before. AV is on one of the main routes into the city from the South and West, it will be close to a park and ride which will be linked to the City Centre and Temple Meads by a Bus Rapid Transit route.

I think there's room in the city for both venues to thrive and do good non-football business.

Only problem with that point is that as it stands at the moment the Park and Ride facility closes the gate too early for any evening entertainment usage.

oh you said it on your board. i wouldnt know my friend what you said there so i didnt know i said something you already knew/said yourself - arse breath <laugh>

i only post on the 'lie to me' thread on your board and i try to avoid other threads. i did say well done the other day on your pub thread after it hit 1000 comments doing natch proud but thats it. reason why is because last time i was posting on threads with constructive comments and not even wumming on your board i received abuse by certain people. and i even received an abusive PM as well. some threads was getting ruined as was turning into a arguement, so i avoid posting now your side to protect your threads so they wont get ruined out of respect to your decent posters <ok>

so again, i didnt see your post saying the same things <ok> sorry dude.
